We screwed these in to the wooden beams/supports with a drill.

Acurio Lattice can be fabricated and installed with conventional woodworking tools. Panels can be cut down to size with a circular saw. We suggest using a carbide tipped blade with fine teeth. Number 8 stainless steel, triple galvanized, or ceramic coated screws are recommended for fastening.

Will these work as a wind block?

          Answer This Question

Acurio panels installed securely may help block some wind. High intensity winds do stand the chance of damaging our 1/4'' material. Check with the Pro Desk for thicker material if high intensity wind is a factor.

This pattern is relatively compact. I would think these would be helpful as a wind block if that's your goal.

How will these do in blocking setting hot sun on a Screened Porch? It gets hot during the summer months and hoping this will remedy the issue.

I would get something with a little less design and more protection … the sun can come through the holes in the design …

This pattern is 30% - 40% open area. Also, black will absorb heat while white will reflect heat.

I live in the desert, we get some 120' days. Will this hold up on a gate that gets direct sun?

                  Answer This Question

I would imagine so- it’s built pretty tough ... It might loose its color a little - although mine have been in the direct sun for hours at a time, and they seem to be holding up fine ... It won’t melt if that’s what your thinking- they are built specifically for outdoor use - very good quality. Hope this helps

Our 1/4'' black material may not be the best option for extreme environments such as a desert climate with high temperatures. Our 1/4'' white material will hold up much better under these conditions.

Can the panels be painted and if so what would be the most suited type of paint to use

                      Answer This Question

Yes, use a quality interior or exterior vinyl, latex or acrylic lacquer paint (do not use oil based paints). Priming prior to painting is only necessary if required by the paint manufacture.

I wouldn't recommend painting, but we did not try doing that.

Can these be attached to the side of deck railing which is about 2", or will they have issues with sagging if only supported by the bottom being attached (ie., no other framing to keep the shape).?

Acurio Lattice panels do best when framed in on all sides. Securing on one side will not be enough support for the panels.

If I understand what you are asking it sounds like you want to know if they will stand up if only attached at the bottom. They will stand up but will be very flimsy and could bend in wind or if bump into, I would recommend attaching at top and bottom for good construction.

I love the look. I didn't install, but I heard no complaints about the quality. I have not had it long enough to know how well it will stand up. I did have a lot of trouble with the shipping, but Home Depot made it right.

Product arrived fast and well packed. In our case, we wish the panel had been a bit longer, but we bought it because we could find nothing else with the dimensions we needed. All in all it has worked well for us, It's lightweight but sturdy, and it helps block the view of a parking lot. Once we can plant flowers on each side, we will be able to see the parking lot even less.

Worked out great with what I use it for. Material cuts easily. Used it in bifolding doors to replace the luvers. Decided to do a 2nd set of doors. A couple of the panels came damaged and HD did get to see then replaced asap.

Wanted to screen one side of a deck under an arbor and was searching for a Moroccan look. Thought these might do and blend in with the setting's dark brown wood. Bought six and had a handyman frame them in for stability. Turned out very nice. Much less money than carved Moroccan panels! Holding up very well and look great!

We had an unsightly water heater in our laundry room. Too costly to move, so we opted to screen it. Air flow is recommended for safety reasons and this fit the bill. We found we could make a simple frame and attach the panels. Ugly water heater has gone into hiding!

Queen size head board, outdoor product for indoor use
Used the panel for a headboard because of its pattern. We mounted it on half inch furniture grade plywood and I painted the part where the panel rested on the plywood the same color as the wall. Trimmed and mounted it looks absolutely gorgeous!

                              Many Uses
I know this product is intended for decorative outdoor use, but it was perfect for my laundry room. I needed to cover the access to a crawlspace so I cut this panel in half, trimmed it with oak and glued fabric to the back to block the view. People think it's wall art and not access to my dirty old crawlspace. Plus the vinyl can handle the humidity in the laundry room.
