About This Product

Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. (ADS) 3 in. x 100 ft. Singlewall Perforated Drain Pipe with Filter Sock provides superior strength while its high density polyethylene (HDPE) construction allows the corrugated pipe to be a flexible, light weight solution for your outdoor drainage project. The pipe can be connected using either a variety of 3 in. singlewall fittings including tees, wyes, elbows, or couplers. This ADS perforated singlewall pipe with filter sock is designed with fine cut slots to allow water to enter the pipe and be conveyed to an outlet, and the nylon sock adds an extra layer of protection to prevent sediment infiltration while still allowing the water to flow through.

Highlights

  • Made of High-density polyethylene construction that resists corrosion and abrasion
  • Polyester fibers are knitted to create a superior protective covering for perforated drainage pipe to prevent migration of native soil into imported backfill and pipe
  • Strong, Durable construction helps withstand weather and human elements, and does not become brittle over time
  • Flexible polyethylene construction installs with ease in uneven terrain
  • Lightweight and flexible for easy installation
  • Installed in culverts, parking lots and highway edge drains
  • Pipe is wrapped in a filter sock to prevent sediment build up
  • Minimum burial depth 12"; Maximum burial depth 48". Burial depth is determined from the top of the pipe in the trench to surface (dirt) grade level. For general purposes only.
  • Understanding the best burial depth for corrugated drain pipes is important for their effectiveness. Other factors (such as paving, traffic, back-fill materials, compaction, flotation, etc.) may come into play. Consumers should check their local codes, adspipe.com, and/or seek local advice for their particular application prior to purchasing.

Q:What is the max burial depth this pipe can handle? Can it be buried 7’ underground?
by|Feb 28, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Hi, Kv00 - Generally this pipe should be buried at least 12" minimum and a maximum of 48". How much weight it can handle is a factor of compaction and type of soil. We'd not recommend you bury as deep as 7'.

    Answer This Question

A:  Hi, duffy - This pipe is made of HDPE which cannot be solvent welded to PVC as they are dissimilar materials. However, it can be mechanically connected to various 3" pipe. Suggested you look for a 3" coupler with the use of tile tape.

      Answer This Question

A:  Hi, Portland - Corrugated pipes are designed to resist collapse and deformation, but the risk of collapse will depend on a variety of factors, including the type and quality of the pipe, the soil conditions, and the depth and size of the installation. We suggest you check your local codes and/or consider a dual wall or triple wall product that will provide increased crush resistance.

          Great "French Drain"
This pipe is very easy to work with. My builder said to use 3" and Home Depot is the only place you can get it. The boot is excellent in keeping the dirt out but letting the water through. I ordered 3 rolls to put all the way around my house on the foundation and against the crawlspace wall. Then I covered it with gravel. The first picture is of the pipe in the "ditch" and the second is of the water flowing out during a heavy rainstorm after I put the pipe in.

It's a lot of money for a sock, but it is easy to work with and the 3" diameter is actually more than I needed for my special project (drainage under rockboard foundation insulation).

          Working as intended.
Had a large "low spot" behind the barn that never got completely dried out. Trenched and installed this pipe (with appropriate gravel base/cover) and in the last couple of storms, water has drained away within a couple hours, not a couple days. Having the fabric sock already installed saved a *TONNE* of time, well worth the cost (I've helped put socks on pipe before - less fun than it sounds). ONLY nit i would pick with this is the thinness of the actual pipe, was actually expecting a more robust construction at this price. Overall, I'm satisfied with this purchase.

          Best drain pipe ever used
Had a bad drainage problem with water sheeting completely under the house and up to a depth of 6 inches at times. Used this drain pipe to install a french drain and despite heavy rains have had no further water problems whatsoever. This product is absolutely wonderful!!! It exceeded all my expectations.

This is the go-to perforated pipe. The mesh sleeve included is a real deal maker for me. This 100 foot roll sells for the same or less than the no mesh version. Highly recommend as this saves you $25+. Unfortunately, it is online only for store delivery. Worth.it
