Answer This Question

A:  Is best if you do  It creates a cavity for the dirt to wash out and not inside the actual pipe

    Great "French Drain"
This pipe is very easy to work with. My builder said to use 3" and Home Depot is the only place you can get it. The boot is excellent in keeping the dirt out but letting the water through. I ordered 3 rolls to put all the way around my house on the foundation and against the crawlspace wall. Then I covered it with gravel. The first picture is of the pipe in the "ditch" and the second is of the water flowing out during a heavy rainstorm after I put the pipe in.

It's a lot of money for a sock, but it is easy to work with and the 3" diameter is actually more than I needed for my special project (drainage under rockboard foundation insulation).

    Working as intended.
Had a large "low spot" behind the barn that never got completely dried out. Trenched and installed this pipe (with appropriate gravel base/cover) and in the last couple of storms, water has drained away within a couple hours, not a couple days. Having the fabric sock already installed saved a *TONNE* of time, well worth the cost (I've helped put socks on pipe before - less fun than it sounds). ONLY nit i would pick with this is the thinness of the actual pipe, was actually expecting a more robust construction at this price. Overall, I'm satisfied with this purchase.

    Best drain pipe ever used
Had a bad drainage problem with water sheeting completely under the house and up to a depth of 6 inches at times. Used this drain pipe to install a french drain and despite heavy rains have had no further water problems whatsoever. This product is absolutely wonderful!!! It exceeded all my expectations.
