About This Product

Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. (ADS) 4 in. x 10 ft. Triplewall Perforated Drain Pipe is constructed with triple bonded high density polyethylene (HDPE) for exceptional pipe stiffness. With smooth inner and outer walls and a corrugated structural core, it is designed to have superior pipe stiffness to PVC sewer and drain pipe. This drain pipe is ideal for collecting water in foundation or french drain applications, or in a septic leach field to allow effluent water to permeated back into the ground. Triplewall perforated pipe is the preferred choice for residential drainage projects, septic leach fields, and agricultural drain outlets.

Highlights

  • Made of High-density polyethylene construction that resists corrosion and abrasion
  • Triple wall pipe can be used for many applications including, onsite septic, retention walls, downspout runoff, sump pump outlets, foundation footers, and curtain drains
  • Triple wall pipe is unaffected by extended exposure to the suns heat and ultraviolet radiation, it is immune to freeze/thaw conditions while the characteristics of HDPE allows it to be corrosion resistant to acids, alkalis, and salts, and will not rust
  • Triple wall pipe is made of 3 bonded layers to provide exceptional pipe stiffness the smooth inner wall, corrugated structural core, smooth outer wall provide strength-to-weight ratio and stiffness rating at least double that of any competitive pipe
  • Spun welded bell end of ADS triple wall has been designed for a tight fit to provide a soil tight connect, and eliminates the need for glue
  • ADS triple wall will accept standard PVC or styrene sewer and drain fittings
  • Flexible construction installs with ease in uneven terrain
  • Strong, Durable construction helps withstand weather and human elements, and does not become brittle over time
  • Pipe is perforated (1/2" holes) to allow water to enter and be transported away
  • Installed in culverts, parking lots and highway edge drains
  • White
  • Minimum burial depth for typical auto/truck traffic: 12"; Maximum burial depth 48". Burial depth is determined from the top of the pipe in the trench to surface grade (dirt) level. The above burial levels are for general purposes only.
  • Understanding the best burial depth for corrugated drainpipes is important for their effectiveness. Other factors (such as paving, traffic, back-fill materials, compaction, flotation, etc.) may come into play. Consumers should check their local codes, adspipe.com, and/or seek local advice for their particular application prior to purchasing. See Installation Guide available on this webpage for more details. (Note: Same as single wall product.)

This product worked perfectly for the intended use. I was able to easily cut it and modify it for my exact purposes. I would highly recommend this product for any needs in septic or storm water management. I found that the product was sized as labeled. It was easy to find in the store and fit right in my truck.

Our heavy rain overflow rock pond was holding a foot and a half of rain water, which was attracting wildlife and mosquitoes. The solution was to dig down 1-2’ and install drain pipe to rectify the pooling water issue. This 4” drain pipe is economical and easy to work with.

I actually bought ADS 3 in x 10 ft perforated drain pipe in White. Not that the pipe color matters. I needed 3 inch pipe, because I was going under an existing 4 in drain pipe, and another 4 in run would not fit the application. The drain was at the base of a timber retaining wall. The pipe was good, and I'm glad I could buy it. I just wish it was stocked in the store, so that I wouldn't have to order online and wait. It was also very hard to find 3" tee fittings, elbows, and end caps. I had to get them at a competing store.

I needed to "dry" about 30 ft. of land along the side of my attached garage for future planning of fence installation purposes. The soil type is 4 inches on top of clay/sod mix and all clay underneath. The trench was about 66 ft. in length overall. All trench digging I did manually (shovel, wheelbarrow, muscle, sweat, etc.) because I wanted the project to be a little messy as possible. The trench was 15 inches deep and 14 inches wide. The overall drain system was constructed out of: #2 gravel, perforated drain pipe, 6 oz. contractor grade environmental fabric wrapping gravel and pipe in a "burrito". The system includes 3 service / inlet ports angled at 45 degrees and 1 outlet pop-up port. See pictures and a video (https://youtu.be/ybNtK4gNph8)

The only down fall to these are the connections are very lose. Cannot even glue them as they are so lose. So once you slide all your pieces together make sure you do not allow the middle to separate.

This pipe worked great for new lateral lines. The bell end is deep (4-5") and the pipe easily slides together. Aligning the printing on the pipe helps to ensure the holes are lined up for all the pipe. Installed 100 ft of pipe in about 30 min...and by the way it's very easy to cut...used a sawsall. This pipe is a great value especially if you buy 10 and get the bulk price. The only question was in connecting it with thin wall elbows and tees which only have 1 1/2" deep bells. I think there is special glue for this type of pipe to connect to fittings, but used regular PVC glue...seemed to work. This pipe would be great for French Drains too!
