Product Details

Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. (ADS) 4 in. x 100 ft. Singlewall Perforated Drain Pipe with Filter Sock provides superior strength while its high density polyethylene (HDPE) construction allows the corrugated pipe to be a flexible, light weight solution for your outdoor drainage project. The pipe can be connected using either a variety of 4 in. singlewall fittings including tees, wyes, elbows, or couplers. This ADS perforated singlewall pipe with filter sock is designed with fine cut slots to allow water to enter the pipe and be conveyed to an outlet, and the nylon sock adds an extra layer of protection to prevent sediment infiltration while still allowing the water to flow through.
  • Made from high density polyethylene makes this product resistant to corrosion and abrasion for a longer use-life cycle
  • Polyester fibers are knitted to create a superior protective covering for perforated drainage pipe to prevent migration of native soil into imported backfill and pipe
  • Pipe is still lightweight and flexible for easy installation and use

Q:Can this be used to drain excess lawn water into a man-made pond? How deep is deep enough to bury it and be able to handle heavyweight vehicles driving on it and parking on it?
    by|May 9, 2023
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  If your goal is to drain effectively into the pond, this may not work - this is perforated, which means water will leach from the pipe as it moves through it. There is a non-perforated version of this that can work, though.

Q:Do you need landscape fabric if it has a sock?
      by|Apr 2, 2023
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  Not to prevent soil/silt from getting into the pipe - that's the point of the sock. However, if you want to prevent weed growth from around the pipe (like if you are laying stone to cover it), landscape fabric might help that case.

        Answer This Question

A:  Is best if you do  It creates a cavity for the dirt to wash out and not inside the actual pipe

          Great "French Drain"
This pipe is very easy to work with. My builder said to use 3" and Home Depot is the only place you can get it. The boot is excellent in keeping the dirt out but letting the water through. I ordered 3 rolls to put all the way around my house on the foundation and against the crawlspace wall. Then I covered it with gravel. The first picture is of the pipe in the "ditch" and the second is of the water flowing out during a heavy rainstorm after I put the pipe in.

It's a lot of money for a sock, but it is easy to work with and the 3" diameter is actually more than I needed for my special project (drainage under rockboard foundation insulation).

          Working as intended.
Had a large "low spot" behind the barn that never got completely dried out. Trenched and installed this pipe (with appropriate gravel base/cover) and in the last couple of storms, water has drained away within a couple hours, not a couple days. Having the fabric sock already installed saved a *TONNE* of time, well worth the cost (I've helped put socks on pipe before - less fun than it sounds). ONLY nit i would pick with this is the thinness of the actual pipe, was actually expecting a more robust construction at this price. Overall, I'm satisfied with this purchase.

          Best drain pipe ever used
Had a bad drainage problem with water sheeting completely under the house and up to a depth of 6 inches at times. Used this drain pipe to install a french drain and despite heavy rains have had no further water problems whatsoever. This product is absolutely wonderful!!! It exceeded all my expectations.
