Answer This Question

A:  Yes it is flexible

by|Jun 28, 2023

A:  Yes, it is flexible, but not as much as 4" due to the smaller size.

    by|Jun 28, 2023

A:  It is a little more flexible than the larger diameter version. These pipes are rigid plastic, corrugated to provide some flex.

I used these pipe to solve drainage issues in my yard and it is great and easy to work with; easy to cut and flexible.
I used sections of this pipe (and a big 50 foot roll) to drain water from two gutters that pool in garden bed edges. I buried the pipe with a drain and it moves the water out to the street. This has helped lessen flooding in my yard and stopped erosion on my lawn. I took the drain cover off the drain (because it clogs) so water freely enters and I havent had this pipe clog at all in 5 years. The pipe has handled heavy rains from the two gutters which drain about 800 square feet of roofing. It also helps drain flooding in the yard too. One thing I will note, when burying the pipe, make the trench at least a foot deep. I buried it maybe 8" below an area of my grass which left about 4-5" of soil above. This had led to an area where grass cant live during dry spells. The roots dont have enough room to grow above the pipe and air in the pipe warms and dries out the soil faster. In the summer, it is very clear where the pipe is buried. I cut this pipe with a utility knife pretty easily and the bell-end (female) connects securely to the male end well with no need for tape. Just try and make sure the male end is where the water comes out. This pipe is also solid, no perforated, so it will not leak along its length. This pipe will also last pretty much forever in the ground and is UV resistant.

No more water running near the foundation of the house. Now it runs more into the yard/the fence. Since there is very little to no grass . We track very little clay into the house.

I used this pipe in my backyard to alleviate flooding, and it was easy to lay. I bought a drain with a grate as well as an end cap, also with a grate, and it all fit together perfectly. Digging the trench was the hard part! The pipe was easy to cut with a utility knife.
