AnswerHey there! There are 2 sets of holes. The one you are looking at that measures 21.6inches is actually the hole set used for the arm assembly to attach on the wallplate. The larger holes on the wallplate are for your studs. Hope this helped!

Fantastic and GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
I purchased the 24 inch backplate model as an open box from AV-Express through Amazon because they were out of stock on the AV-Express website. It took 11 days for the mount to arrive (Not AV-Express fault). It arrived and when I opened the box it was the wrong mount, it was the smaller wall plate. As it was after hours at AV-Express I sent them an email with pics and expressed my disappointment. I intended to call them the next morning, but before I had a chance they called me!!! They apologized and said they would ship the correct part. They did....overnight FEDEX!!!! I had it the next day!!!! WOW! Now that is Customer Service!!! I installed the mount and installed my new Samsung 85 inch TV in a corner without any problems. This mount handles an 85 inch 105 pound TV very well!!! Thanks to Mat and Brian at AV-Express for their fantastic Customer Service....Again I just say WOW!!!

Just what I needed!! AEON - 45250 from AVExpress
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed a mount with a long extension (you can tell why from the pics). I researched alot and finally decided to buy this product. It arrived quick and well packaged even though this was open box product. it had a lot more scratches than I had expected but I am still happy with this purchase. Installation was very easy , took about 20 mins for 2 people and now my tv is mounted to the wall rather than sitting on the floor :) . Currently my TV is fully extended out and perfectly balanced.

Perfect Mount
I needed a mount that came off the wall a good distance, and one that could rotate to work for my patio tv, this mount works perfect! It is also very sturdy, very well made, definitely worth the money.
