A:  i have had no issues but using end cut solution can't hurt. i just gave it an extra heavy coat. i would like to add. i live in florida and used it on my dock. we all know the florida sun. the product is nothing short of amazing. it is over 3 years now and i have no checking in the deck boards whatsoever. i started to powerwash it last week in prep for redoing. the wood is like brand new. i cannot say enough good things about this product. it isn't cheap, but it is amazing. i am more than just sold on the product.

Q:Call I use this product for my raised garden bed? And is it safe for my vegetable garden?

        Answer This Question

A:  I believe it is safe for these things, but I would call the company to double check.

        by|Mar 14, 2020

A:  Yes, I used it on all my raised vegetable beds.

          by|Mar 14, 2020

A:  I used it on my trailer bed and has worked great. Don't see why it would have any effect on a garden, any chemical vapors should evaporate before it would leach into the ground. As precaution, I would wait a week or so after a rain, just in case, before planting the garden.

Q:Do I protect this product from freezing temperatures?
            by|Nov 11, 2019

            Answer This Question

A:  Yes, the product should not be allowed to freeze.

            by|Nov 12, 2019

A:  Not sure about freezing, but I was generally disappointed with how well it protected the wood. I know exterior cedar is especially vulnerable to weathering over time. This may have been the wrong product for this purpose, because in less than a year it seemed to have little effect. The rough cedar boards turned grey and lost their attractive appearance, not much different than what you would expect with no protection at all.

              by|Nov 16, 2019

A:  No, it's not recommended for freezing temperatures.

This product is as easy to use as it gets. I applied this to a stained plywood plank floor that my husband and I installed in our cabin. I applied the Lumber-Seal with a brush so that I had more control. The product has a very minor odor that is definitely not offensive. It is thin and has a milky white appearance when first applied but dries to a beautiful satin finish. I love that it is non-toxic!!! I would recommend this product to anyone that wants an easy-to-use wood sealant.

Must use more coats in order to get a poly shine, but this has no odor at all and is an excellent alternative to toxic varnishes. Dries to a hard protective coat.

We built a completely wooden sustainable house in the tropical rainforests of a Belize ecovillage. Rainy season is amazingly humid and the rains are brutal when they hit. Rainy season lasts 8 months. Dry season is really, really hot and the sun is harsh. The environment is tough here. We imported Lumber-Seal and sprayed it on our initial shed and eventually our to our house. We can certainly see the beaten parts that we missed. It's kind of embarrassing. It hasn't even been a year in these harsh conditions, and the Lumber-Seal portions are unscathed, and the unprotected parts are battered. The stuff doesn't smell like chemicals either, which is a bonus. There's no smell when dry. It keeps the natural hugh of the wood, though it does make it richer in the natural color. A little goes a long way too - especially when sprayed. One must just cover up when spraying it on. It's sticky at first, then in these humid conditions takes a few days to dry. I am sure it would dry way faster in dry season. Laundry takes a week to dry in wet season. Nonetheless, I would certainly recommend this stuff to the rest of my village. It's certainly an ecovillage staple, I'd say. Scout-Ecovillages-Belize, MX 2014

                  Worked Great
Wanted a non toxic sealer to prolong the life of my outdoor, untreated wood compost bin that I use to make vegetable garden soil. Product went on smoothly and easily. Turned untreated wood a pleasing gold color. As far as durability...only time will tell.

                  Easy to apply, looks good
I had no problems applying this with a garden sprayer. I applied it to a log home after cleaning mildew off the logs. I hope this will prevent further mildew.

Very Impressed, Better Than I Expected
This stuff is great! Easy to apply, coverage is generous, and best of all, it works! The "after" photo was taken about 2 months after application. I was surprised the wood wasn't absorbing any water. It does seem a little steep at $40, but it works. Better to spend a few more dollars than waste $ and time with something else. Just wish it were stocked and not limited to online sales.

                  LUMBER SEAL
This product was very easy to apply and dried quickly. I have been using this on my own lumber cut from my own trees, which have been drying naturally indoors for about 7 years. The wood soaked it up. I did find that if you lay two boards/beams together to stack after applying this product, they tended to "stick" together, even though they were completely dry. So once you seal the lumber, I don't recommend stacking it on top of each other. I cannot comment yet as to whether or not how well it works or how long it will work, I just used it Summer of 2015 on my porch project. I am hoping to have great results as far as sun resistance and weather resistance. I have a feeling I will have to treat my lumber again in a year or two. Not that the product has shown me flaws, just my gut feeling on products like this. I did apply 2 coats to everything. When I sprayed the ceiling and rafters, I made sure to apply pretty thick as well.
