needs ground prep for effective results, needs at least 10-15 lbs of weight so know the areas you need to do and prep,prep,prep. If you wet the ground good enough like I did, you don't need to add weights the push aerator is heavy enough to get the penetration it needs to aerate the lawn very effectively. Good for small tight areas you can't get to with a pro machine or tow behind. Great around landscaping and detailed structures, This machine works well on any type of lawn in any condition just follow any landscapers instructions on how to aerate. Have Fun!

Hard to put together. I use two big rock to weight it down and pushed it over the lawn after it was mowed. Sometime I had to wiggle it back and forth to get it from being suck. It made some hole, but, will try out some seed on it to see if it worked. We had a little rain earlier in the morning the day before. Today it is partly cloudy and mostly sunny.

Inexpensive but capable lawn aeration
The soil in my front yard is nearly pure clay.and so it has been nearly impossible to have a nice front lawn. However, I bought this aerator almost on a whim before either renting a professional one or hiring a lawn service to help. However, I was very pleased at how well it worked. It did a great job of aerating the lawn. My only reservation is that the soil was very wet when I used it and it worked great. However, because it is fairly light. I suspect that it will not work at all for dry soil.

Yeah..... Just Don't
Bought this and returned it right after using it.
Harder then crap to push it, even with soft soil.
Only penitrates approx. 1/2" with the spikes all the way penitrated.
Junk.... don't buy

Good price but not a good product!
Not heavy enough to go deep enough in the grass. Had to secure a heavy brick block to the top in order for the spikes to get deep enough.
