Answer This Question

A:  No problem with mine, works very well.

by|Mar 14, 2022

A:  Look for: 1) green light (showing there is enough water in the tank) If you see a red light, add water because the unit is not functioning. 2) white mist coming from the top of the unit. If you don't see any, turn the dial to increase flow. If you cannot get the white mist and do not see any water used up, your unit may be defective.

A:  I rinse off the filter when refilling the water in the unit.

          by|Feb 4, 2022

A:  No the filter does not need to be replaced. You simply need to rinse the filter in between tank refills. The replacement filters are for those who have accidentally damaged their original filter, or if they would like a secondary filter. We also supply demineralization filters which we suggest using if you have hard water in your home. These "Hard Water" filters do need to be replaced every 90 days. If you have any further questions you can talk to one of our customer service representatives at air-innovations.com, by clicking the chat feature, Monday – Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (EST) and we would be glad to help you out.

Initially I thought this was a pretty good humidifier. It would run for quite awhile on one tank of water and output was acceptable and comparable to other models. Certainly not up the supposedly rated 400sqft of space it advertises but all of them oversell these units. I liked the tank and the permanent filter was one of the reasons why I thought this could be a good unit. I also like the simple compact look of this unit and didn't need something with 20 settings and adjustments. After about 3 months of intermittent use I did start to notice a problem. Whatever mechanism this unit has to ensure its on a stable surface seemed to start malfunctioning and turn the unit off constantly. This was very irritating. However a swift whack with a plastic stick to the housing seemed to "fix this issue" and the unit began to operate normally for a few more months. Unfortunately though this was just the beginning of the issues with this unit. It started then consuming more water than usual to do what it had previously done with less and after about 8 hours on full the unit would run dry. The next issue started with the dial which would no longer output consistent water vapor without constant adjustment. Got to the point after about 9 months of use that you just had to run the unit at "full power" all the time to get it to output anything. After about 10 months the unit would intermittently stop turning on and you'd have to play with the dial placement of the unit etc.... Its now been less than 11 months and now the unit appears to be dead. The fan turns on but the dial will remain red (indicating a problem) and refuses to output anymore vaporized water. This is despite the fact that I've taken excellent care of this unit. (cleaning it out each time I refilled it to prevent build up) ensuring proper water usage and care of the unit per the instructions. Overall for the price, this humidifier is a piece of junk. It didn't even last through its 1 year warranty and had one problem after another beyond the 90day return window. What I really take issue with is that this unit appears to be intentionally designed to fail. The circuit board which controls the unit, is intentionally placed (unprotected and unsealed) underneath the air output vent. No doubt so when you go to clean the unit or if it should be moved or hit during operating, water will fall onto the circuit board. Presumably this is intentional so it will short itself out in short order and the manufacturer can blame the end user for "intentional or negligent damage" on the part of maintaining the unit. Less than a year of use out of a humidifier is a joke. I had better humidifier's based on less efficient older technology that ran for over 5 years growing up with daily use. This unit is a waste of money and I would not recommend it to anyone. Additionally do not expect any warranty support from the manufacture unless you're willing to ship it back to them. If their unit fails after less than a year of use they should be more than willing to send you a completely new unit in support of their product not ask the customer to send the old one back to them at the owner's expense. In my area based on the weight of this unit and the size of it, it would cost me ~$25 to send it back to them. Why would I do this when I can instead spend that money on a better humidifier that will hopefully last longer and isn't designed to fail after less than a year of use. In short this unit is piece of junk and I wouldn't recommend it or this company to anyone. A company that doesn't support its products and honor even a basic one year warranty at their expense isn't one worth buying from. Consider yourself warned.

I've lived up north (originally a Floridian) for 11 years now and this is the first time I have bought a cool-mist humidifier and don't know how I lived without one! The catalyst to buy one is because my pet birds decided to nest during fall when the temps started dipping. With the heater going, humidity levels were dipping to about 35% (which is dangerously low for the eggs' survival) so, I got this humidifier from Home Depot at their store based on a friend's recommendation. I've had it for 2 months now, and it works really well! Even though I got this for the eggs, I am also amazed how it's helping me in general. When running on high, if the air is really dry, I have no problem, but when the humidity level gets above 60-65%, the condensation from the fall of the mist starts to accumulate on the surface of where it's standing. So, I only run it on high when the humidity is really low, and I put the humidifier on the edge of the table so the mist shoots away from the table. I usually run this on mid to high, so I've never gotten 90 hours out of it (which your supposed to get on the lowest setting). On high, I get less than a day... on medium, usually about 2-3 days with it running constantly. I've noticed a significant difference in my nasal passages and skin (so far) this winter. Usually around this time I get very dried out, but this has helped tremendously. I don't know if it's this particular humidifier, or just having any humidifier in the room, but it humidifies a medium bedroom size quite well. Pros: it runs quietly, the exception of a mild gurgling noise it makes every once and a while. It humidifies the room well There is a wide range for adjusting the level of humidity with a knob. Lasts a couple of days without having to refill Cons: Make sure you don't run it on high when the humidity reaches a certain point, or you will get your things wet. There's a white residue that gets on the bottom from the filter. I highly recommend getting a humidity reader for your room to adjust the levels of the humidifier accordingly.

Lasts 70 hrs on one tank of water!
I have another one of these humidifiers and really like it so I got another one in order to have one in the bedroom and one in my living room. I live in a rural area and have allergy problems. There is a lot of dust. Mixed with a gas furnace my house is very dry in the winter. These issues wreak havoc on my sinuses. The moisture is helping all of my issues! It is very easy to use, refill, and clean. It is extremely quiet so it won't bother you when sleeping. It has a permanent ceramic filter that helps eliminate hard water deposits and other impurities but they recommend avoiding tap water if it is hard water. Use only filtered, distilled or bottled water. You can manually rotate the mist nozzle to any desired direction but it is not attached and falls out easily when you are refilling the water tank. Has anti-microbial protection to help prevent microbial growth in the tank. Automatic safety shut off. Easy turn control knob to adjust the amount of mist, High to low. Nice, sleek design, fits anywhere. Made in China. 1 yr warranty

                Looks good and is quiet
This clean mist ultrasonic humidifier looks great and is very quiet. If you have dry skin problems its probably from dry air. This is perfect for raising the humidity in the room to a more comfortable level. Filling it is easy with no spills and it will last as long as 70 hours before needing to be refilled. You can rotate the nozzle to direct the flow of mist.

                Simple, easy on and quiet.
Filling is the biggest gripe after using for a full week, round top prevents setting container down to fill in the sink. This model does have a panel to see water level. Other gripes include the carrying of a towel with you to wipe up water dripping all over, the design of the mist traveling through the water storage unit is a fault that will drip the whole way to the sink. The air vent opening on the base and under the tank, do not let water in (manual says), I took the empty tank off and it had been dripped on “by itself”. The “High” setting resembles a fog machine, mist goes up 16 inches and falls 3 feet so set to medium and you can see the mist come out and evaporate. UPDATE, 6 tanks filled with filtered water and the base cup which always has water setting in it (has to) is a milky whitish color so I am thinking that I/you will have to unplug every couple weeks and carry the base to the sink and brush (included) out and clean or corrosion will effect this units function. Bad design and a very simple humidifier. I worry that this unit would not work for my father in-law with breathing issues, looks like you could cut the air with a laser and the humidity level is acceptable in house at 63%. 4 stars, due to the cost I would recommend this unit.

                Keeping moisture in the air
As winter roll in and the furnace is turned on, the moisture is sucked out of the air in the house. This is when I go on my hunt for a humidifier.there are a number of types to choose from, big units that use a fan and filter (noisy), units connected directly into your HVAC (costly) and ultrasonic. This is the ultrasonic model which uses a soft membrane to particalize water. What's great about this is it is very efficient and quiet. The unit also includes a built in filter to help clean the water. I personally use filtered or distilled water to reduce the impurities I am pumping into the air. The unit itself is ultra quiet. Has adjustable rate of humidification production. And auto shutoff when the tank is empty. Cleaning and refilling is easy. No expensive filters to purchase. And best yet it has reduced the inevitable dry skin you get when the furnace comes on. Very happy with this product.

                Great for large rooms
Wow. After a dry end-of-summer and into fall, I hadn't realized how dry the inside of my house had gotten. I was having nosebleeds, dry skin, even my cats were sneezing. I have only been using this for about 1 week and it's made a HUGE difference. Even my hair feels healthier! This humidifier is handling a 400 sqft 3rd floor (dry) bedroom and then some. One cat has found happiness laying close to the mist fall. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the way it performs at all, but there are a couple quirks. For instance, the mist nozzle is meant to rotate but is not fixed into it's slot and falls out when you flip the unit to fill it. Also, I took a Sharpie and colored in the "off" indent on the knob so I can see from a distance what setting it is on. No big deal. Lastly, I got the black unit, and it is hard to tell how much water is in the unit. I can tell you though, that filled up, it will last a good 8+ hours while you sleep and the automatic shut-off will switch it off when the water runs out. I definitely recommend this product, especially for larger rooms.
