A:  We're sorry for the problem you're having with this humidifier. It's most likely an easy fix. You may want to contact Air Innovations' Customer Care to do a small amount of troubleshooting. Visit air-innovations.com and use the chat feature for fastest results.

A:  This happened to me and this helped: I found that after I filled the tank and put it back in the cradle and shook the tank gently, it released the trapped air that wasn’t letting the water through. (It’s being because it thinks the tank is empty.) Hopefully that will help!

    by|Apr 15, 2020

A:  Ours does that also. We notice that it does that when the water is to high in the tank. Turn it off, carefully lift up the tank from the bottom part about 1/2 in for about 10 seconds. This kind of adjust the flow. Replace and turn on. We have had ours for over six months and works fine. Hope this helps.

A:  this is a guess . Maybe it needs cleaning ? Are you using tap water - you need to use the pure water you use in an iron .

        by|Apr 14, 2020

A:  I’ve never had a problem with mine. Only thing I could suggest is to clean it (if you have been using it regularly).

Q:How do you fill the tank, form the top or bottom?

            Answer This Question

A:  at the line in the middle it can be lifted off. that filter you see from the front on the left is full of filter stones and after being lifted off it unscrews from the bottom of the upper piece and fills there. it has a spring loaded one way valve . then you just put it back on top and adjust settings. They automatically turn off when empty as well. I fill mine about once every 24 hours on a decent setting . so recap . lift off and flip over. unscrew the thing and fill . replace one way valve filter screw on and flip it over and set back in the cradle. I hope this helped.

            by|Jan 8, 2020

A:  It fills from the bottom. When you flip the tank over there is a handle to hold/carry the tank and a valve that unscrews to allow the tank to be filled.

              by|Jan 9, 2020

A:  The opaque, top part lifts off and can be filled at the faucet.

                  A:  From the bottom

                  by|Jan 7, 2020

A:  It is very easy. There is the base and water tank. You flip the water tank over where there is a big screw like stopper you unscrew and fill the water tank with water.

A:  I have not had any “beeps”.

                    by|Mar 7, 2020

A:  I have 2 of these units and they run very quiet and the only time I have had it beep is when it is low water or turning it on or off or if the power is interrupted where it powers off and then back on. I have not had that issue even with setting a timer. Make sure you do not have it sitting on a towel or something that will block the sensor in the bottom of the unit that checks the humidity & you have the humidity set to where you want it. Also I have found that sometimes you need to lift up the top & reinsert to the base to make a good contact.

A:  This device will only add humidity. It can add to a higher level but it will not remove humidity. You need a dehumidifier generally a refrigeration type device to collect moisture by cooling the air.

Works well but eventually gets noisy
This unit is excellent for creating humidity in the air. All the features such as humidity level, timers, work well. Only complaint is the noise after about 1 year of use. Noise seems to be coming from the blower which pushes the mist up the tube and out of top of unit. I opened it up to investigate and cleaned the blower which helped a little but its still louder than when it was new.

It is an attractive unit. It is very quiet and does the job of keeping the room comfortable. You can set a timer or humidity level and the unit will turn itself off and on according to your settings. It's not the easiest to refill. The top is curved and needs to be filled from the bottom. If you're filling from a faucet you need to stand and hold the unit to keep it from tipping until it's full. The little white directional misting thing on the top needs to be removed before filling otherwise it will fall off and roll under the sofa. Overall I'm happy and comfortable in my warm and adequately humidified home.

Living in Arizona the air is extremely dry, sleeping at night with this unit on is a delight. The unit is quiet, practically silent and has many different easy to understand settings. it has a 1.5 gallon capacity and depending on settings you can get multiple nights of use without having to refill the unit. There are timer functions and settings for humidity degree, as well as the ability to turn off the display, I prefer to sleep in a dark room and this was a big plus for me. overall I give this unit 5 star rating and highly recommend it.

The output mist control is a great feature, the humidity control is great as well. Do not like like that the container does not have a handle on the outside of the main unit so that you can remove it from the base easily. There is a handle on the underside of the container but trying to put the unit back onto the base is difficult if your hands are wet.

Right out of the box this does not function properly. Humidity says it is still at 31 after running on the highest setting for several hours. The unit looks nice and has some good features, but they are useless if they do not work. If I wanted something that ran continuously, there were cheaper options availabe.

There is nothing innovative about this except may be the looks. My comparison is mainly with the Crane 8065 ultrasonic humidifier. I gave it 3 stars as it does not have a continuously adjustable knob for humidity, humistat is not accurate so timer is useless, does not turn off immediately, will not remember the humidity setting when turned on (with unit still plugged). 1) With medium setting it only runs for 3 nights (9-10 hr each). The 70 hours claim is for low setting. But at this setting the unit hardly puts out any moisture. So I am not surprised if it gives 70hrs. It is pointless to run this at low setting. For me the medium is a bit too much as I see condensation on the window the next morning. I would prefer a continuously adjustable knobs as with the Crane 8065. 2) It is not as quiet as other rave about. Compared to the Crane 8065 out of the box, this is louder. But the Crane 8065 started making a loud grinding sound after a couple of months. The general complaint in all these humidifiers is that the unit becomes loud after some use. It is obviously due to cheap parts made in China. Will see if this also gets louder. Now it is not very bothersome as it is not totally a high pitch whining sound. It is like a mixture of high pitch and low pitch fan white noise. High pitch content is less. 3) This unit is probably made by the same manufacturer but sold as a different brand as the black nebulizer looks the same as Crane and the molding of the base and top also look similar. If you shopped for jackets at Macy's or Kohls you will see that they all look the same but with a different brand name. So I will not be surprised if the humidifier parts are all made by the just one or two manufacturers in China. 4) The on/off button does not turn off the unit immediately. It runs the fan for 10mins and then turns off. Makes no sense as this is not a heater to cool off before shutting down. I found this out only after I buying a second unit as I thought the first one was defective. 5) The humidistat is useless as it is not accurate. How do I know? Because when I put the 2 units side by side, one read 35% and the other read 41%. Also it read 35% all night. So even if I had used the auto-off feature and set the humidity at a higher value, it would have run all night. These features are useless if the humidity cant be measured accurately and reliably. 6) Every time I turn off and turn on, it defaults to the low setting. So I have to set it to medium again. Where as with the Crane, it is a mechanical switch with a continuously adjustable humidistat knob (but no display). I like that feature as I plug the unit to a timer to turn on at 8pm and go off at 5am. Just look at it once in 2-3 days to refill. I cant do that with the MH-509 7) Using distilled water every day is going to be expensive as you are not supposed to use tap water. The demineralization cartridges are like $9 a piece. Dont know how long they will last. Those for the Crane 8065 last for some 30-40 days. If the Crane 8065 had not gotten louder, I would have given that 5 starts and bought more of them. Time will tell if the Air Innovations MH509 will get louder. They are all cheap stuff made in China and made to last just for the warranty period They know this is seasonal and people only use it for a few months. In all probability the next season it will be out of warranty period. BTW Amazon took the Crane 8065 out, most likely due to all the negative reviews. Since MH509 is mainly a QVC product it is not very popular in Amazon. It is also not selling as hot cakes in Homedepot in spite of displaying these models right in the main walkway.

I owned this for two weeks and it worked fine and was helpful. My cat was entranced by it, sitting for hours watching the steam and jumping at the bubbles and then knocked it over and the tank cracked badly. Not cat proof.

                                  Great digital programmableIt humidifier!
I have another brand of room humidifier in my living room but this one has it beat! The digital controls and features are great and easy to use. The controls allow you to adjust the mist output, maintain a desired humidity level, and to set the unit to turn on or off in 1-24 hr increments. It will run continuously for up to 70 hrs on low setting. It is extremely quiet and compact so it is perfect for the bedroom. The Humidistat monitors your humidity setting. It also includes a 4 level adjustable mist output. It uses Ultrasonic Technology and has a permanent ceramic filter that helps eliminate hard water deposits and other impurities. If you live in a dusty area and/or have allergies/sinus problems, a humidifier significantly reduces those problems and this is a great one to use in small or large rooms.

Many Features At A Great Price
The set up was very easy. When you fill it with water which needs to be spring or distilled water from a bottle you need to remove the top half and unscrew the ceramic bead holder filter then add the water. I would have liked to see a fill line but there isn't one. The digital display is great and the unit can be set to start or end in hour increments. The humidity can also be set as well as the amount of mist that is needed. We have noticed that the air quality is better while we sleep and we don't wake up with sore throats. The display can also be turned of if the light bothers you.
