A:  My hub is in the basement and units are upstairs and basement . No problem via wifi. However I have xfinity wifi and extenders.

A:  Hi jrfromffx. Although I don’t have the exact range in feet, Airthings claims the hub should have full coverage within a large house. I have my hub in the basement via a wireless network talking to a mini upstairs with no issues.

What started as an experiment to determine our air quality, may have wound up saving our lives. The two detectors will function independently with lights indicating green, yellow or red. A red light on the radion detector gave us some pause. Once the system was set up, we were able to tell that our air quality was good, but the radon level was "red" high. We're now having a government radon test done to confirm it. The app keeps track of your readings over time.

You have to download app. But I really wanted this to check my home on a daily basis. I thought it would on in handy with the baby and allergy as well. It tells about mold as well. I worry about carbon monoxide in the house and gas fumes from my stove as well. I feel a little safer now that I have these to check. I be at work looking at the quality of air in my home.

The set comes with the base unit that needs to plug into your router in order to have remote access, a sensor that mounts on the wall for detecting radon and another smaller sensor that you can put on a shelf that detects VOC. The setup was simple and didn't take long. I followed the steps provided and it recognized the sensors without any issues. I placed the radon sensor in my basement and the VOC sensor in the living room on the first floor. You are supposed to let them calibrate for a week or so in order to get average levels, so I gave it some time before reviewing. My basement unit started out green and eventually worked it's way to red with an avergage level of about 5 pCi/L. I need to get my basement tested to see if this is accurate or not, however I tried moving upstairs near the patio door (just to make sure levels dropped) and it went down to yellow, but still think it may be recording a bit high. I did have my house tested when I moved in 7 years ago and it was in the safe level (under 2.7 pCI/L), so retesting is the only way I can know for sure. The VOC sensor has pretty much remained green with some brief visits to the yellow zone. The phone app keeps track of your levels and also gives temperature and humidity readings. Overall, I think it's helpful to know whether you have an issue with the air in your house. If it proves to be inaccurate, then I'd have to drop my rating, but that still doesn't mean I couldn't use it to monitor unsafe levels if I compare this to the other readings I get. Most homes have radon to some extent, it's just a matter whether the level is safe. There was a significant reduction when I changed placement, so it's definitely reading the levels, but I'm just not sure how accurate those readings are at this time. I will update when I complete testing.

Our awareness and concern for the air and environmental quality within our home has been significantly escalated since the onset of the COVID-19 epidemic. That prompted us to remember that a radon inspection was required years ago when we purchased our home, and the fact that this unit also monitors for mold and other pollution and concerns was a big plus. The fact that it is also a smart device was the closer for the deal for me. It is nicely designed and appears to be fairly simple and straightforward to set up. We believe that we will be healthier and safer with this unit.

This is a great unit. I didn't think I wanted or needed one of these, but after seeing it in action, I am happy to have it. The main piece for me is the Radon sensor. That is placed in my basement. We have a Radon system that works well, so the Radon levels are low, but for some reason if that system fails, this will alert me if the levels become high. Not only can I read the numbers on the app, but, as you see in the video, if I wave my hand over it and the light is green, I know the air quality is good. The VOC monitor is great as well, and that is in my main living space. It also shows Humidity, Temp and a gauge on the probability of mold growing. Setup is very easy and it comes with a hub to send your info to the internet so you can view anywhere in the world with the App. You can setup all kinds of notifications, etc. Keep in mind that the sensors use batteries, which should last quite some time. The Hub is plugged into an outlet. Also keep in mind that it takes about 7 days when first plugging in to get a baseline reading. Over all this is a great unit giving you a piece of mind.

This is a great tool to have to be able to monitor the air you breathe in your house. My home is about 60 years old. I moved in a year and a half ago and completed a home inspection prior. During that inspection, I had a radon test performed. The results of that test are different than the reports provided with this tool. But this tool provides one click access to additional information as to why that could be and what exactly Radon is. I will have my home tested again to verify these results, but I think it is clear that I need to do some work to fix the air quality. The tool itself has three components, two air monitors and the hub. Both air monitors will look similar to a smoke detector in that it’s just a plastic thing sitting on your wall or table. But if you wave your hand over each you will get an instant read on the current air quality in terms of the color displayed. (See pics) Installation and set up were super easy. I love the magnetic backs, makes it super easy to access and if you prefer to install on the wall. The app was fast and pretty much click to install. There was an annoying chat/intro thing that will keep popping up until you read it, but while I was installing I didn’t want to read it. But it did make the install cumbersome having to dismiss it constantly; it would be better to have that pop up after install is complete. But even still, install was quick and easy.

This Whole Home Radon Detector and Indoor Air Quality Monitor Starter Kit is a comprehensive kit from AirThings that includes everything you need to get started monitoring the air quality in your home. The kit comes with 2 sensors and a hub. The 2 sensors are a Wave and a Mini. The Wave monitors radon, temperature, and humidity. The Mini monitors temperature, humidity and volatile organic compounds (VOC's) and mold conditions. The Hub links to the sensors to get the information into the cloud so you can monitor results from anywhere. There is no charge for the cloud service. Setup was easy, but took a bit of time. First you set up and account on AirThings, then you link sensors the smartphone app. Next you plug in the hub and link the sensors to the hub. Now the data is available on the dashboard, available on your smartphone on a web page on your PC. The sensors are battery powered, and the hub plugs into a wall outlet and your router. Once configured, the sensors take 7 days to calibrate, providing data the whole time. The dashboard shows historical data in chart format, very useful. I have borderline high radon in the basement so I wanted to keep an eye on the radon levels on the main level. I have a radon mitigation system but I need to improve it. This sensor will help me keep an eye on the mitigation system's performance. I also got several nice emails from customer service that gave me helpful tips. The sensors are called Wave since you just wave your hand in front of them and they light up green, yellow or red, depending on the readings. This gives you a quick indication of your air quality. This is a very nice kit!

This Airthings system for monitoring indoor air quality is well engineered and has pretty slick software. Setup was easy and straight-forward. We live in a 120 year old house with a fairly porous concrete floor in the basement. I have often wondered if we were at risk of elevated levels of radon. One of the sensors that comes with this system is specifically designed to monitor radon levels. I will be looking forward to the data it generates. Other items monitored include TVOC’s humidity, temperature. The included hub has no problem communicating with the sensors - even from the second floor to the basement. This is especially impressive given the house has plaster and lath interior walls. All in all, a useful product

Finally a way to continuously monitor radon levels in a home using a smart phone. This starter kit is pretty complete unless you want more sensors for different parts of the house. The sensors are battery operated. I placed the included radon sensor that also includes humidity and temperature sensing in the basement next to the sump pit and the other included sensor for temperature, humidity, TVOC (air quality) and the newly added feature of mold risk in the master bedroom. There is an included hub that connects the sensors to your wifi via an ethernet connection and allows you to connect your smart phone to the devices. The app is free and very easy to setup. The included graphics tell you at a glance if everything is ok or not - green for good and yellow and red for issues. You can also wave your hand past the sensors to activate the color coding also. I found I've got higher levels of radon that I'm comfortable with so I'll be looking to install a radon mitigation system. Highly recommend this kit.

Logs air quality in your home
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I purchased a house which is over 100 years old and have always been curious about the quality of the air in our home. This house kit is easy to setup. I didn’t have any trouble downloading the app or setting it up and reading it is simple. I do wish however, that this could be an all in one unit as opposed to having three separate units. I think that would be much easier to keep track of and display. Now these units can be installed on the wall or set on a table top. They include batteries and does require wifi and Bluetooth. I prefer mine in the living room and have them set on my corner table as it wouldn’t look very attractive on the wall in my opinion. This house kit gives us both peace of mind knowing that our inside air is satisfactory.
