Product Overview

The AllFitHD Lawn Sweeper features an industry leading super capacity 26 cu. ft. heavy duty collector bag and an extra wide 50 in. sweeping path allowing you to get your lawn care done faster than ever. Exclusive patented spiral brush sweeps more efficiently than standard sweepers and puts less stress on gears for longer life. No-slip positive lock height adjustment will not vibrate out of position and has easy to remember height settings. Hopper easily empties by pulling rope from the seat of your tractor. Just reverse to debris or compost area, pull the rope and you're done. Extra wide 9 in. chute is less likely to clog, especially when sweeping damp grass clippings that clump together. 3-position hitch adjustment allows for efficient level operation with any tractor hitch height without the use of easy to lose spacer rings. AllFitHD attachments are manufactured by Ohio Steel, who for over 50 years has manufactured high-quality, innovative tractor and ATV attachments that help get the job done faster and with less effort.

Does this sweeper work well on pine straw

Asked by JohnS October 20, 2020

Answer

This sweeper does a fantastic job picking up pine needles. On a thick layer of needles you may need to make more than one pass to collect all of them.

Does this fit on club cadet?

Asked by john October 12, 2020

Answer

Yes. Ohio Steel/AllFitHD lawn sweepers work with all front engine lawn and garden tractors including Cub Cadet mowers. They can also be used with zero turn mowers that are equipped with a rear pin hitch receiver.

Will it pick up acorns??

Asked by Tom October 12, 2020
1
Answer

Yes. AllFitHD lawn sweepers will pick up acorns as long as they are not embedded deep into long grass, where it may be difficult for the brushes to reach the acorns. Otherwise this sweeper will do a fantastic job picking up acorns.

Can the brushes be replaced upon wearing out or breaking? Is the drive gear plastic or metal?

Asked by Brandon October 6, 2020

Answer

Yes they can. They are bolted on with a bracket. Mine came off on one said after a few years and I just bolted it back on. This sweeper works very well and is very sturdy. Had mine 5 years and still works great.

Yes . This thing picks up pretty much anything that will fit through the opening. Long sticks can get caught up and packed pine needles will take a couple of passes. Works great I love it.

Works great. Assembly takes a little time but once put together its great!! Took care of the grass clipping problem on a 3/4 acre yard. Easy to empty. A little bit difficult to back up due to short base. Could have made a round bale out of what it picked up out of the yard.

picks up pretty good but....
Over all it does pick up grass clippings pretty good. The issue we had was it broke twice within the first 30 minutes. My husband had to replace the quick connect push buttons that connect the hitch to the body. He put bolts in their place and it worked fine after that. I was disappointed that we paid $300 for something that broke all most immediately.

Purchased this item along with a zero turn mower on 1/12/19. Today was the first opportunity to use it as a substitute for a hand rake. They should warn buyer ahead of time the bag drags the ground when in use. If you had the perfect yard full of thick grass and very level (no tree roots running along the ground) it may work. Here along the coast of MS the soil is very sandy and the oak trees have very small leaves so you have to set the "sweeper" low so it will pick up a few leaves. Setting it low may have caused the hole in the bag along the frame. Not very happy with this purchase from the Depot. It's going back. Took it back today and gonna try a Brinly, I told the young girl at Homey Depot, if this one does the same thing, she interrupted me and told me to bring it back. We'll see.

The sweeper performed as expected. The simplistic use of the device is awesome, hook it up and go. I have a lot of grass so it did fill the hopper pretty quick but the ease of dumping made it great. I only had it for a few months but used it 3 times. I have 30 sec video clip but was unable to upload.

I recently bought a house on 10+ acres, and although I didn't plan on raking the whole property, I did want to keep the area around the house as leaf free as possible. I bought this sweeper because I wanted a product that would last, and the previous reviews for this item supported that. Assembly is straight-forward and relatively simple; I had this assembled in about 45 mins and then I added a pintle hitch so I could use the ball on my mower instead of having to use the pin. The area I swept was about 2+ acres, with 10+ large trees (oak, maple, willow oak, sweet gum). This thing is great! Instead of one long session, I broke the area I wanted to clear into 3 equal pieces and spent about 1.5 hours on each over 3 days. The sweeper worked without an problems. Adjusting the sweeping height is super quick and dumping is easy although if the hopper if full of smaller leaves, the weight can be a bit more than you think; I wound up putting a makeshift handle on the pull cord to make dumping a bit easier on my hand. Overall, this sweeper is a true time/back saver... I would definitely recommend it.

LOVE, LOVE, this product. Had it just a few weeks and it works fantastic. Makes cleaning up my massive leaves a breeze. Holds so much more than my prior lawn sweepers. Easy to put together, easy to hookup. Would highly recommend to others. Picture is of my first pass with the lawn sweeper. WOW!

My husband assembled this with no trouble. He recently had neck surgery and has a brace on his neck so it couldn't have been too difficult LOL.. We attached it to the mower and away I went. I'm in love!! It picked up the leaves, several of the little cones and even some silt that had bunched up from the rain. I think I will be using this ALOT!! I like the curved brush. A small issue that I would change is the rope that is attached for pulling the basket up for dumping is a small one. Hard for me to pull up without winding it up on my hand. I may attach a thicker one with a loop or something for me to pull easier. Also not sure about it working in my ditch because of the uneven ground but that's minor and I can rake that myself. I've only used it once for about an hour so far but totally happy with it. Saved me time and saved my back and hands.

Works well. It sweeps well and on level ground it sweeps evenly. Undulations and depressions will cause it to work less well but that is the nature of any sweeper, not just this one. It also seems to be built tough, much tougher than the one it is replacing (Brinley). There are a few "design shortcomings" that could be better but are minor issues one of which is modifiable by the end user to correct. The non user correctable issues are the hopper opening is a little low at the top and a fair amount (looks like 10-15% to me) of leaf material hits it like a ramp and flies over the back instead of going in the hopper. Grass did much better. If the rod was maybe 2-3 inches higher it would probably perform better with leaves. The correctable issue it this, too much of this is held together by "pins". While the cross rod above the hopper will probably survive the life of the unit with just the supplied pins, I would replace the mfg. supplied pins at the bottom of the hopper with at least a cotter-style pin that can be more permanently attached. I say this because in the first 30 minutes of use, mine threw a pin (that is now somewhere in my yard waiting to puncture a tire on my lawnmower) along with the 3/8" button it was holding. I ended up replacing both sides with a 3/8" bolt and a nylon lock nut. One note, if you use the bolt and lock nut solution, do not tighten it fully as the oem button and pin setup allowed it to pivot freely. Make sure you leave it loose enough to pivot after using the lock nut fix. Had I not lost the button, I would have probably replaced the supplied pins with cottters and used the supplied button. The supplied connection pin used to attach the sweeper to your tow vehicle also bounces up and down enough that when using the lower two connections, it did come unhitched a time or two on me but did not bounce all the way out nor did I lose the pin. This can be fixed easily with a drill press and pin hole in the bottom of the connecting pin or just a rubber band if desired. I have only used it a few hours so far but am quite satisfied with the performance of the unit fulfilling its purpose. To me as a long time DIY handyman, the design flaws are a minor annoyance. To a consumer not familiar or comfortable with field modifications, they might be more concerning. I attached photos of both issues with the fix at the end of the review.

This is a Great Time Saving Addition to My Yard Tools I bought this lawn sweeper specifically to sweep up leaves in the autumn. I have about an acre of lawn and it is surrounded by trees, mainly oaks, and the grass becomes completely covered with fallen leaves if not picked up. Reviewing the options for removing leaves I looked at the baggers suitable for my tractor but there were a significant number of buyers who were not fully satisfied. I put a lot of faith in the user reviews and find them to be both helpful and accurate. So I decided on the lawn sweeper instead. It is cheaper, reasonably efficient and easy to use. The sweeper arrived in a large box and weighed 109 lbs according to the delivery note. The main parts needed to be bolted together and assembly took me 90 leisurely minutes. Several reviewers have mentioned a small amount of damage on the brand new sweepers. Mine is no exception – a slightly bent metal lip on the left side of the hopper – it does not affect performance and is not enough to warrant me returning and exchanging the item. I have used the sweeper three times now and it takes me about 90 minutes to sweep my acre of lawns. They are not the super smooth flat rectangle lawns seen in adverts – mine have several gradients, are lumpy and there is barely a straight line anywhere. I find it picks up even at very slow speeds but even slightly damp leaves are much trickier to collect. Breezy conditions and moving too quickly makes some leaves come out of the hopper. I fastened a cargo net over the opening but it did not help much. For next season I will fit some closely meshed type of material which should help. Emptying the hopper while remaining on the tractor is a great time saver and I made a loop in the hopper cord and put it over one of the tractor control levers. It just rests there and there is no strain on the lever – see photos and video.
