We had ours professionally installed and they did not use braces. It has been in place for 3 seasons and no problems.

HOW CAN I PURCHASE REMOTE ONLY FOR THIS UNIT??

Asked by ANNIE March 26, 2020

Answer

Annie, without pulling out my documentation, there should be a contact email or fone for the manufacturer. Barring that, when mine came the grille was cracked - a REALLY minor issue but I stopped at the HD desk and those wonderful people were just beside themselves. And POOF, I had a new grill in less than a week. YAY HD. SO - ya might just bring your order receipt stuff to the HD service desk and ask ‘em. But I’d holler first at whatever contact information is in your manual.

My Amanda stopped blowing heat. What’s wrong

Asked by Js December 4, 2019

Answer

You have two systems in there for heat - the Eason it’s 230v is for the resistance coils (good old fashioned electric heat), the other is heat pump heat. You don’t explain whether it’s blowing but without heating, or not blowing. You also don’t note whether it cools (operates as an air conditioner) but doesn’t heat. Simple things I’d check is (1) the filter - I’d ignored this given the clean room mine works in, and my bad, it was really dirty. (2) if it’s not working at all, without digging up the manual, check to see if its fuse blew? Not to mention, did it throw the breaker on its circuit? Sorry, can’t be more help without more specificity.

What amp circuit breaker is suggested to connect the 230 volt apparatus?

Most 26 in. through the wall units are designed to fit other brands of wall sleeves. As long as the chassis dimensions are very close, it should fit.

Would this fit into an existing 25-1/2" x 15-1/4" sleeve?

Asked by John June 23, 2019

Answers

So it would appear - I didn’t dig out the manual, but did run down to the shop and tape the outside dimensions of the sleeve, which are 26 * 15.5 or so. Must be the standard size (else they wouldn’t be able to sell it as a standard unit replacement). Love the thing, by the way. For heat, it will always use the coils to bring it up to temp but then over something like 38 degrees it carries it with the pump. Seems like the thermostat is a bit optimistic for cooling - to maintain 77 on the wall temp/humidity meter I have to keep the unit thermostat at 73. BUT other than those quibbles this was a great choice (especially given there’s hardly any competition).

Can the heat pump work without auxiliary electric heat? Or does the unit always use 3.5kw when i...

Answer

The equipment will operate in heat pump mode without the electric heat. When the outdoor temperature is approximately 40°F, the heat pump stops and the electric heat begins to operate.

Doesn’t keep the room cool in 90 degree temperature. Various codes keep popping up requiring you to turn off the machine to reset. Had to have a HVAC technician out twice to check it out. Don’t waste your money.

A bit noisier than I hoped. Documentation generally good with some poor spelling. Front cover very hard to re-install. Bought 3, all three had the problem. There was an included note on how to restrict the unit from using the heat pump, I think it should also include a way to restrict the electric heat.
