American Craftsman windows were outstanding. Several times my installer asked where I had gotten them. Of course, it was from Home Depot. The quality and workmanship are outstanding. The windows fit perfectly in our rough openings.

Look Good, easy install excellent quality
I wanted an inexpensive temporary window to add to my back stairs for air flow and a place for my cats to enjoy the outdoors year-round & this window was perfect. It installed easy has excellent insulative properties and added security to my back of the house area. Sliding windows + Glass Blocks were a perfect combination this combination was much less $$$ than ordering custom sized windows to fit the opening. To make them more secure for the cats I replaced the stock fiberglass screens with aluminum. One thing I really liked was the windows came with all the hardware you need.

Very poor quality control. Two windows were ordered and we were told it would be 3 weeks until they came in. We were given a date. We went to Home Depot and inquired about the order when the windows were 10 days past the given date. Home Depot said they would check into the status and never got back to us until a week later when the windows came in. The windows were easy to install, but not to open. The windows appeared to be stuck. After checking and rechecking for stops, trying to check the online installation instructions (very poor and the product doesn't come with instructions) to see if there was a packaging stop or some other reason the windows would not open, we just forced the sliding window open by throwing it back and forth in the track a few time. We found manufacturing debris in the track that was the culprit, in both windows we ordered. After cleaning out the debris, the windows open and close, but there is about a half inch sticky spot when the window is first opened. Finally, we have a screw sticking down between the glass on the sliding window. The seal is missing in the spot as well, and the glass is cantered in the frame, so I imagine that the gas seal is not intact either. We will see if we can get another one, and how long that takes. We have had the windows for 2 days. Very disappointed, especially for what we paid.

Very Poor Choice for replacement window
Cons:
a) on the 31 x 19 window the frame is proportionally huge taking up space and leaving you with a tiny window.
b) the sliding mechanism allows the window to easily be lifted up out the track, making it a terrible choice if security is a concern. The moves so high you slide a screw driver under it, similar to how sliding glass doors are sometimes broken into, but worse. You can move the entire thing with just hand from the the outside.
c) I bought two, on one the window is mal-formed so it barely slide over enough to allow the locking mechanism to work, leaving dents in the frame where it missing.
d) due the sliding off track problem again, the outside of one of my windows cracked.
e) the screens don't fit (at least not on mine) not sure why they would design screens that can't be popped in
Pros:
a) the installation was easy
b) the windows looks nice if you get past the frame taking up so much real estate and don't mind a tiny window in it's place.
c) you can slide them open.
Overall: I guess you get what you pay for here. For $100 it's a window. My other windows are Weathershield windows and in a different league. This window is minor league for sure. I would never buy this brand again though.

This product has great value in both quality and appearance.
I loved the nice clean look of the windows. The price was excellent. The installer said that they went in well. We are so pleased with the job. The service from Home Depot was good. The order was shipped timely.
