The pad smells disgusting!
As I started unrolling it, the smell hit me and I thought I was going to throw up. It smells so rotten! It doesn't look all that great, but I could deal with that. The smell is totally different story. It's like it was stored rolled up for years and got wet or something. I returned it, I could not deal with the smell. And it doesn't look anything like in the picture. In the picture it looks like it's made of felt and something close to it. In real life it looks more like a thin sponge, very rubber like. That wouldn't have been a problem if it didn't smell so rotten.
I bought another one which was $5 more and I can tell you - there is a huge difference between the two pads. There is no comparison. I am buying the other one again.

I have a kitchen rug that lays on a vinyl...
I have a kitchen rug that lays on a vinyl floor. With the rubber backing to the floor, the fiber gives no real grip and the rug continues to slowly slide over the rug pad. I would advise buying the thinner pads that are rubberized on both sides.

I bought this rug pad with the "Thin Profile" because it is advertised as .125" (1/8") which would allow the door to slide easily over my new rug (also bought from Home Depot). Unfortunately, the rug pad is at least 1/4" and the door drags over the rug and in time I fear it will damage the rug. So, unfortunately, I will be returning the rug pad back to Home Depot.

This rug pad is used under our 9×12 carpet in the dining room. Our carpet is actually 9'4"×12'6" so no trimming of the rug pad was made. The carpet and rug pad both lie flat. The rug pad has been in place for one month. The rug pad is well designed and high quality. Ordered online and shipped free to local Home Depot. Seamless transaction and very satisfied.

I am using this rug pad under an indoor/outdoor rug in my dining room with the rubber backed side...
I am using this rug pad under an indoor/outdoor rug in my dining room with the rubber backed side down on my hardwood floor. It has a nice uniform construction and has a consistent thickness. It was easy to cut with good sharp scissors to fit under my area rug. The rug pad definitely does not slip on the hardwood floor. I cut the rug pad to be 2-3 inches shorter than the area rug in both width and length so that the rug would lay flat on the floor and you would not see the edge of the pad. You don't notice the pad unless you step right where the edge of it is. The pad is thin and does not provide a cushy feel, especially under an indoor/outdoor rug, but I was not expecting it to.
