I have a little over a year old Avery kitchen faucet model # 4901.380.002 and two days ago when I turned on the water just a squirt came out, I messed with the handle and water started to work. This happened only twice. Now it doesn’t work at all. ???

Anonymous, Thanks for the question on your Avery Faucet. It would be best to contact us directly there are a couple of things that we can trouble shoot with you in order to get your faucet working correctly again. Your American Standard Consumer Connection Team.

Water flow is minimal since the faucet was installed. A plumber checked the faucet and concluded that the faucet has a defective Solenoid Assembly part Number M954486-0070A. The water pressure to the system is fine. It's constricted in the faucet.

Avery Selectronic Single-Handle Pull-Down Sprayer Kitchen Faucet in Stainless Steel American Stan...
Avery Selectronic Single-Handle Pull-Down Sprayer Kitchen Faucet in Stainless Steel American Standard Selectronic Kitchen Faucet...high quality exterior but actual faucet technology may need some work. I received the American Standard Avery Kitchen Faucet through the Home Depot Seeds Program in exchange for a fair and honest review. The faucet was received within 8 days of ordering and was packaged well in a box and received in good condition with no dings or dents but there was a small sticky glue at the base of the faucet which was easily removed with goo remover. The American Standard Avery faucet is made of a stainless steel with a beautiful brushed nickel finish. The materials are definitely high quality but this is a heavy duty, massive faucet that may not be a great choice if you have a smaller size sink. The height of the faucet is 18 inches which is probably better suited for a large, deep sink -- maybe a farmers style sink -- because this faucet is BIG, definitely bigger in size and height than most pull down faucets (see pictures). Getting back to the quality, this faucet is made of brass and a very heavy stainless steel not the light weight stainless you see on many lower end faucets and it seems like it is very durable and would last for years. The faucet design is contemporary and looks like it could go with almost any style kitchen and the finish is a beautiful brush nickel. The finish appears to be finger print resistant, there were no prints on it after all of the handling. It has a nice pull down sprayer and has a motion sensor for hands free operation. There are two issues that I can see straight out of the box that could possibly be a problem, there is only one sensor on the top of the faucet -- which doesn't make much sense since you place your hands under the faucet ( many of the touchless faucets have two sensors, one on the top and one on the underside of the faucet) and the second issue, which is more concerning, is the small diameter water lines. Several people have complained about poor water pressure--the specs say the faucet should deliver 1.5 gpm-- abut maybe the smaller water lines are the reason. Another problem with smaller water lines are these can become clogged over time with sediment from hard water so the smaller the line the higher the chance of it getting clogged. I compared these lines to my current faucet and they are definitely smaller in diameter so consider this if you already have poor or low water pressure. Unfortunately due to height and size of this faucet and reports of low water pressure I did not want to take the chance of installing it only to have to remove it. My current faucet is at least 4 inches shorter and water still splashes all over my counters so an 18 inch faucet would be worse. I may try installing it in a second home but it may be too big for that sink as well. For those of you installing this yourself, paper instructions with a diagram were included in the box and installation looks fairly straightforward. The American Standard Avery faucet is assembled in Mexico, there is no mention of where the parts and materials are made. This faucet retails for under $500 which may seem a little high but it is made of high quality brass and stainless. The faucet has a lifetime limited warranty on the finish and workmanship and the nice thing about most faucets these days are the manufacturers will replace ceramic cartridges and most parts for free for the life of the product! Overall this is a very good quality faucet but as I mentioned this faucet is huge and is more suited for very large deep sinks. The design is versatile and the finish is very nice. If I had to make suggestions to the manufacturer I would suggest downsizing this faucet, using larger diameter water lines and adding an additional sensor.

What an awesome idea...this is a great faucet for everyone that cooks and cleans as they cook. No more having to clean the faucet and handle along with all the dishes because you had to turn the faucet on with your sticky fingers. With the Selectronic Hands-Free Technology on this faucet, you can simply wave your hand to turn the faucet on to rinse off your hands off and wave your hand to turn it off. Also great to clean the vegetables for a pot luck that you are headed out for. Want to do it manually, you can do that as well. What a great invention, love, love, love it!! Installation was easy for any DIYer out there.

A stylish solid unique faucet that everyone will love. To start this Stainless steel faucet is very graceful with a single handle flowing from the stem to one side. At the end of the curved faucet is a super convenient pull out head with a long hose with a aerator setting and a spray setting for super easy clean up. The electronic on off is super convenient and very easy to use. Great for when your hands are greasy or covered in dirt with an easy pass of your hand over the sensor the water comes on or off. Much more practical and useful than I could have ever imagined. Very solidly built with a great stainless steel body, this faucet is built for the busiest of kitchens. The unique style will blend in with many decors. And the solid construction makes this a long lasting addition to any home. Looks, feels and works great in my kitchen

The sensor on the faucet never worked out of the box. American Standard insisted it was the solenoid or the AC adaptor but when they resent them that did not fix the problem. Then they wanted to replace the whole unit but I declined because I was concerned that the sensor could just stop working at anytime since it did not work out of the box and the water pressure was really terrible. I went with a new Delta faucet that I know was made in the USA and the water pressure was a thousand times better. Also t was easier to maneuver the pull down sprayer and the faucet feels more sturdy. I know it seems nice to not have to touch the faucet to turn on and off the water but with the sensors they can potentially fail. I would not recommend.

Easy to Install!
This product was a much needed update to kitchen. As a woman with zero plumbing experience, I found this faucet very easy to install by watching the installation video on americanstandard.com as well as a few general “how to” videos on YouTube!
