Is it possible to block or cut off the jets in the sloped end of the tub. You must fill the tub...

Answer

Joy, Thanks for the question on the American Standard Cadet whirlpool. You cannot turn off or block any of the jets in any of our whirlpool tubs. Your American Standard Consumer Connection Team.

Can pump motor be placed at either end? In my case, at the drain end? Because that is where my current access panel is.

Asked by jobo321 August 22, 2019

Answer

The motor is factory installed on the end opposite of the drain. Access is required at the pump end of the tub and American Standard does not produce a model with the pump and drain on the same end.

Can you add bubble bath?

Asked by NRS May 22, 2019

Answers

Yes, but in small amounts, tablespoon, due to the amount of bubbles it produces. Remember that the water level needs to completely cover the jets before turning on the whirlpool so as not to burn up the motor.

Water jets are not wll designed. Locations are not very good. Back two jets higher that the front. Sprays water out everywhere unless filled up to the over fill drain. Right front jet very weak. Not as good as my previous smaller American Standard Whirlpool Tub. Also had a hard time finding faucet to fit it. What was recommended by Home Depot and purchased online was wrong. Paying plumbers $950 to installation had to rig a sink faucet for now because Home Depot had nothing at any price in stock at the Evans, Georgia location. Had to drive there and get something while the plumbers waited. Will change out the faucet with the appropriate type later. Whoever does the web page needs to know what they are recommending. So when Home Depot says recommended to purchase be careful. Unbelievable they did not have a tub faucet to fit it in stock at any price. Bought a Kohler Sink Faucet and took out the water restricter. It works but takes twice as long to fill the tub. Also try getting help at that location, good luck.

Still building it in the bathroom. Nice size, seems well made, heavy duty, nice rails on bottom instead of "feet". Pump motor and hoses on right side are not well designed as hoses and electrical get in way of piping. as does the water hookups. tolerances are very tight hooking up both water and power on the motor side. Could be redesigned to give better clearances for the installer.

Whirlpool tub was a lot thinner than the one it replaced, you could actually see light through the tub in places if you looked from underneath. The water jets at the rear of the tub were at a higher level than the rest of the jets and the angle of the jet would cause the water to blow up and out of the tub. They would also blow on your back if you leaned back on the end of the tub, creating a mess! Manufacturer should re-design the location of these jetsYou are very limited on the faucet locations on this tub deck, it is very thin.

comfortable, and so far so good
I have had this for several years, and no big problems as of yet (I hope I did not jinx myself). I am online today because the rotary dial tub stopper has always been a bit lacking - not lifting high enough, especially with the weight of water on it, so today I took it apart, adjusted the pivot hole setting and reinstalled. I was glad to find this serviceable from the topside-although I do not like it's design. I started hearing sounds like a bearing in the pump motor almost immediately - and routinely spray the shaft with WD40 - still not sure if it is a bearing sound, although the spray does quiet it - so that is worrisome. I bought the tile bead kit - but forgot to install it when I dropped the tub in (dummy), and bought the heater, but I have not installed it. I used a whole house Rheem 9.8 GPM tankless hot water heater dedicated to this tub, so I have more than enough HOT water. I just drain and refill a bit to keep it hot. Someday I may install the heater - I ran the electric -- I just haven't needed it yet. This model only has 8 jets, so you can not really get a message on specific areas, but it does make a tub of churning water. As another reviewer mentioned - the jets tend to spray all over if you are not careful to keep you body on them like a shield.

Just ok
We've had this for a few months now. One of the jets was leaking within a couple weeks. Several service calls later, it appears to be fixed finally. The slant at the back of the tub is too much of an angle and when you lay back with the jets on, water sprays up your back and onto everything behind you.
