This could be the part needed if your toilet continues to run. You may want to call American Standard directly to diagnosis your issue to ensure additional or other parts are not needed.

You should contact American Standard directly, we would need to know the model number of your tank in order to directly you to a proper replacement.

Will this fit 4215A?

My Champion 4 is losing water and the flapper looks like it may have some ripples along the edge, sllowing water to escspe. The inside tank shows model 4215A
Asked by: Rick
You can find a replacement seal at Home Depot the 4 inch blue seal will get blisters or ripples and not seal and let water leak by.You can purchase the seal for under 5 dollars or you can get the hole assembly for about 18 dollars. If yo need partnumbers Plumb Supply has a good website for reference.

Do not recommend - Just an entirely bad Am Std OEM design and implementation!. Just replace the whole thing with a FluidMaster Complete Universal 3" flush valve kit and never look back... I did, haven't had a problem since....

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some type of design problem. In order to install this product, you have to completely take off the tank from the bowl. The float FALLS too quickly and does not allow enough water to escape to allow for a complete flush. In order to get a complete flush you have to hold the handle down a long time. This was the reason I purchased this device because it seemed that overtime he had to hold down the handle longer and longer. The device itself works fine just not to the level of satisfaction I was looking for

I am a huge fan of the American Standard Champion IV and of their older models also. Seriously, I have a lot of investment properties and have been switching out the toilets to American Standard Champion IV (elongated). In all the years and I assume many, many thousands of flushes, these toilet have yet to clog even once. So, when the tank seal went out one of these, I went to the store and bought an aftermarket one that said and guaranteed it would work with the American Standard. It didn't and that is upsetting as who returns a seal? Well, Home Depot has the entire device online which is an upgrade to the older Champion toilets and, as expected, after taking the old one apart and installing the American Standard tank seal, it worked! My time and effort is worth a heck of a lot more than the couple of bucks I might have saved using another devise. So, as the years go by and the originals wear out, I will be ordering new ones and wishing I could buy them in the stores.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost 5 stars I was disappointed I had to order this on line, I originally purchased this toilet from Home Depot so I expected to get the replacement parts in the store. The original delivery date was the 20th, a week from purchase date, didn't receive it until the 24th. It also didn't have the seal that goes between the tank and toilet, had to use the old one. The product it's self is great, thus the 4 stars.

Yes, the Tank Seal did the job just fine, but was only required because of the ridiculous design of this American Standard toilet. In order to replace as simple Flush Valve, the water closet/tank must first be removed. So I would recommend that when shopping for a new toilet you first look to see if it includes this unique 4" flush valve and, if so, look for an alternative.
