Leaked when turned on.
I tested the valve prior to wall install with no leak. Completed the install and within a months time water came through the ceiling below. thought the water was coming from the drain pipe. After ripping a hole in the ceiling below, found the leak coming from the valve. Now if I can’t get a repair kit it will require tearing up walls to replace.

2 out of 4 wrong color
I ordered 4 of these for a new construction home in Florida. It met the building code for the correct valve needed. I ordered the brushed nickel x 4. They were well packaged, boxed inside another box. The problem is, 2 of 4 are correct with the brushed nickel all over the handle area, but the other 2 have a chrome plate that does not go with the rest of the brushed nickel handle.. see pics. I will contact customer service to see if they can rectify the issue. Good pressure, good flow, looks nice overall.

Recommended for budget installation only. Photo shows the best thing about this faucet being installed in our newly rebuilt shower stall. It has a three position lever, full force, milder and then mildest. The wife needs full force spray for cleaning her thick hair but I like the gentle rain like shower and heads we have had included way to many spray patterns that required daily fiddling to find the one you wanted. Installed easily with a good set on instructions and no surprises. My concern is the extensive use of chrome looking plastic, mild cleaners only and you should be OK.

This kit includes everything you need to replace/upgrade your shower head and lever, including the water valve. The kit includes: 1) the shower arm, 2) flange for the arm, 3) the shower head, 4) valve unit, 5) escutcheon (cover) and screws, 6) a decorative ring to cover the escutcheon screws, 7) a valve cover, and 8) the lever/handle. This particular kit does not include the matching diverter spout if you are installing this in a tub/shower. Chatfield offers other versions of this product that does include the tub diverter spout. The kit also includes installation screws and an Allen wrench. This particular kit has a brushed nickel finish. Chatfield also offers this set in two other finishes: 1) legacy bronze, and 2) polished chrome. Since this kit is intended to replace an existing valve, or for a new installation, you will need access to the plumbing behind your shower. Installation is pretty straight forward if you have done any sort of plumbing work before. While the valve itself breaks down into 10 separate pieces, it is shipped already assembled, making the job easier for you. All in all, I found the parts that comprise this kit to be good quality materials. Some of the parts are made of plastic, such as the shower head, but the finishing job is done well and one can't tell just by looking at the kit what is plastic and what is metal. Overall, the product looks very nice. If desired, there are some adjustments you can make to the valve stem and handle which will limit the high end range of the hot water for the shower. If you have your water heater set to a fairly hot temperature, you can make this adjustment so that someone using the shower can't accidentally get scalded. One small word of warning. Be careful when unpacking the handle from its taped bubble wrapping because there is a tiny plastic cover that is included in that bag that is used to cover the Allen wrench hole (where you insert the included Allen wrench to tighten the handle onto the valve stem). When I first opened this bag the tiny cover dropped the floor making the slightest sound. Fortunately I noticed this and found it. After installation, I did have difficulty getting this small cover to stay in the hole, but the hole is underneath the handle and not really noticeable in the first place. The shower head has three settings: normal/regular spray, "massage" or pulse spray, and a combination of the two. I found the normal setting to work just fine. The water flow is decent (at 1.8 gallons per minute).

The American Standard Chatfield Single-Handle 3-Spray Shower Faucet in Legacy Bronze is a great deal on a quality shower faucet. Beautiful bronze finish, nice solid weight, with the quality you expect from American Standard. Huge plus is this faucet comes with the valve. After remodeling several bathrooms I appreciate ease of installation of this faucet and am using it in a vacation home.

I received the Chatfield Single-Handle 3-Spray Shower Faucet in Brushed Nickel ( Valve Included ) for review. I found this product was fairly easy to install and had good instructions included. I like the anti-scald valve and the 1.8 GPM flow that this unit provides. I also like the large three function shower head. This product is well made and looks stylish.

We just did a bathroom remodel on our downstairs bathroom ourselves and the last thing to replace was the tub and shower hardware. Not knowing any better I thought this kit came with the tub spout but when it arrived there was no tub spout so I contacted American Standard and told them of my problem and they were able to get me the matching tub spout so I have added it to my review. The first thing I did was remove the 1980's brass hardware in the shower and install the new sleek modern Chatfield Legacy Bronze shower neck and shower head. The shower head is made completely out of plastic so I was a little worried about its quality until I used it and found that it had great water pressure and the finish appears to be of great quality so I felt better after that. There are several different water patterns so everyone in the house should be happy if they want different settings. Next I moved on to the tub spout which is also 100% plastic. I was able to twist my old one off and when I went to install the plastic adapter the new tub spout came with I found that my whole assembly was 3/8" to long. I was able to use my mini copper tubing cutter to remove 3/8" of an inch of the 1/2" copper tubing that the tub spout was threaded onto and then sweat on a new threaded male adapter. Next I added the plastic adapter the tub spout came with and then threaded the tub spout onto the whole assembly and it turned out perfect! Next came the hard part which was the installing the anti-scald water valve. After much researching and soul searching I decided not to install this yet. In order to install this I am going to have to either remove some of the tile on the inside of the shower or cut a hole in the wall on the back side of the water valve and I'm not quite ready to do that just yet. So for now I have a brand new beautiful Legacy Bronze shower head and tub spout until I get my courage up to tackle the water valve. Looking at the water valve it is solid brass and very high quality so I know it will outlast me once installed. If you are looking to modernize your tub and shower with the bronze colored look I would definitely go with this Chatfield legacy bronze set from American Standard. The fit and finish of everything was spot on and the whole thing is of very high quality.

This faucet is going in our cabin, which is a new build, so installation will be easy. Looking it over, out of the box, there are a few plastic parts, but they should last due to less frequent use in our summer cabin. I do like the anti-scald feature as I have plenty of grandchildren who will be using it. Also, the adjustable spray feature on the showerhead is great. I have installed many new shower plumbing systems and this will be a textbook install. Plumbing for me will be PEX. This will hold down costs and is easy to work with. For anyone doing their own new install, just be sure to measure well, as you will want the depth of the valve installation to be perfect, as well as the height of the valve. It will look great in the cabin in the Legacy Bronze and I will re-review in the next month with photos of the complete install. The price is about right with the brass valve included and I would use this system again.

The American Standard Chatfield single-handed 3 spray shower faucet in legacy bronze (valve included) is a beautiful shower faucet. The large 3-function shower head is very nice. I am a big fan of ceramic disc valves and this one is a good one. It has the bronze finish that goes well with my other bathroom fixtures. The instructions are very well written and easy to follow. Very happy with this quality made shower faucet.

Chatfield pressure blancing bath and shower set by. American Standard. It comes complete with everything you need to finish the job. Yes it looks easy enough to install, with a couple of short pieces of copper tubing and a few sharkbites I should have no problem installing this piece, my only dilemma is that my house is old so, have to be prepared for anything I find behind the walls.
