Q:Can I install this without the deck plate? There isn't much of a gasket on the bottom of the faucet, and I don't know if I install it without the plate if it will leak.

Nice Higher Arc Bathroom Faucet
Feel like I graduated to a higher level of taps, having changed the low arc to this higher arc faucet. Easy to install and adjusts waterflow with the push of a finger, this one works for the way I use the basin. Good looking and nice brushed finish.

Solidly made and installs easily
When we bought our house a few years ago there was a good ole Glacier Bay vanity set in the back bathroom. The faucet was already broken but since we hardly used the bathroom...no biggee. Finally decided it was time to replace the faucet and got this one. Really wanted a one-handle faucet, this has good reviews, and was even on sale. This was my project and I'm happy to say it was easy to install! Didn't even cuss once! However, I only replaced the faucet, not the drain, etc.
The faucet is nice and heavy -- seems like it will last a long time. The part that holds the faucet in place under the sinktop is metal so I know it will last a long time too (that part was one thing broken on the old faucet). Though the faucet comes with a plate for the top, I chose to use these little things that cover unused faucet holes (also from HD). Would look all the more elegant if I had used the plate.
FYI: If you use the plate the instructions mention a "seal" that you will NOT use. After looking through the box about six times for this seal in case I wanted to use the plate I realized the seal is a black rubber ring already placed in the bottom of the faucet. If you use the plate you'd pull that ring out.
Before closing this up I want to give a shout-out to good ole Glacier Bay. The vanity box is still solid (I modpoged Route 66 fabric over the doors) and the sink is still in excellent shape. Looks pretty darn good now it's dressed up with its new Chatfield faucet!

Excellent quality and fitment - very satisfied. The water stream is a little narrow compared to the faucet it replaced but just something we have to get used to. The drain stop lever is discreet but can be awkward to operate depending on your linkage configuration under the sink. The kit comes with everything you need to replace all components. All nicely organized in the box.

Single hole faucet
Really wanted to eliminate the use of two handles and didn't want to spend a fortune, so this was a nice choice, so far. Hopefully it will last... looks nice in polished chrome. This faucet is so easy to install, but kind of needs a way to keep it straight while you put the screws on. It comes with water lines. I like how modern and stylish it looks. The metal finish is polished and clean, the water flow is very good. I installed a Delta one, but after seeing this one, I had to get all 3 for my house. Love it!
