Mold From Very Low Bowl Water Level
Water level in the bowl is extremely low after flush completes. There are no adjustments to increase bowl water level, and the extremely short tank height prevents changing out the tank's fill valve and float with any standard off the shelf replacements.

Very attractive one piece toilet. Almost too nice to put in my half bathroom. Nice modern design. Bright white finish. Includes a quality toilet seat. Elongated bowl. Flushing action works well for only 1.28 gallon flush. Install was pretty simple as you didn't have to install the tank separately. Super easy to clean since it is a seamless one piece design without the tight hard to reach spaces you see in a two piece toilet. The only negative I can think of is that this is one heavy toilet, being a one piece unit. Might take two people to install due to that. You will need to buy a wax ring as it does not come with one.

Wonderful toilet if a toilet can be wonderful! This was a breeze to install, just got a new wax ring (HomeDepot carries a number of them and the newer ones do not make any mess at all). Everything lined up perfectly with no leaks. The flush is great and leaves no residue (if you know what I mean) where a single flush does the job every time. The seat, although cheap, is a comfortable throne and as an added benefit is slow close. I think they skimped on the quality (thin plastic) but nonetheless it does work well and looks good. Someday I will replace that.

This is a compact, low-profile, space and water saving modern toilet with 12 rough-in It includes slow-close seat and lid, it is tall for comfort and ease of use. Its 1-piece design makes the toilet simple to clean and maintain. Since this is high-efficiency toilet (HET), each flush uses only 1.28 Gal. of water per flush (GPF)) This is about 20% more water saving over a standard 1.6 GPF toilet. Due to this efficiency, the system meets EPA WaterSense criteria. It flushes well, the low water volume does not affect functionality Its trip lever is made of polished chrome and side-mounted. Overall, this is a nice, modern-looking and space saving toilet. It is highly water efficient and eco-friendly. It is a little noisy during filling but it only last a few seconds, as the tank drains about half way with each flush. The flapper inside looks relatively complex and might be more technical to replace eventually.

I was looking to replace a 30 year old Eljer 1.6 gallon flush toilet with a newer design toilet. I wanted a standard height seat but with an up-to-date design. This toilet hits the mark perfectly. The seat height and size (elongated) is just right and it's more efficient that the model it replaced. It has a 3" diameter flap valve (to replace the old standard 2 inch valves) so there's a big rapid flush of water when you hit the handle. It is a rapid flush but it's very effective at clearing the bowl and seems to be the direction that most manufacturers are going for high efficiency toilets. I really appreciate the one-piece design that eliminates the gap between the tank and seat sections. It's much cleaner looking and easier to keep clean than the two-piece designs. The seat and lid are slow-close designs so they lower themselves slowly down without a bang after you tip them forward. The porcelain casting is very smooth and easy to clean and the seat is an antimicrobial plastic so soap and water cleaning is all it needs. The fill valve was set perfectly so it worked without needing any adjustment right out of the box. This is a great choice for a modern toilet.

Will be a great finishing touch to my guest bathroom renovation. This American Standard Colony 1-Piece 1.28 GPF Single Flush Elongated Toilet in White Seat Included is a great value for a modern toilet. I love the slow close toilet seat that is included. The one piece design is very classy when updating a bathroom as it looks so modern. I always like the side-mounted trip lever because it is not covered by the open toilet seat. Uses little water, with just 1.28 gallons per flush. Pay attention to the Rough-In size when ordering, as this one requires 12 inches! Not only does American Standard make a quality toilet, but check out my picture of how well it is packaged and protected for shipping and delivery without any damage. I highly recommend American Standard bathroom products!

American Standard made a very good quality 1 piece toilet. The product met all of our expectations. It is priced fairly. It includes a soft close toilet seat. This toilet will provide a significant upgrade over the basic 2 piece models. The toilet looks and feels fantastic. It will give your bathroom a good modern/contemporary look. I found the fit and finish to be good. It is fairly quiet on the flushes. Everything you need except for the flange and bolts comes as part of the package.

This one piece is a great competitor to the Kohler one piece toilets. Installation is similar to any other one piece toilet. My only gripe is that it was missing the screw covers for the base. I ended up using our old ones from our previous toilet. Because this is a 1.28 GPF toilet, I was worried that it wouldn't get all the waste out. After a couple of "tests", I was happy to see no remnants left over.

Packaging: The product shipped to my home on a pallet and with plenty of corrugated to protect it from damage. Almost all of the packaging was recyclable. Installation: It took longer to remove the old toilet and clean up before the new toilet than it did to install the new toilet. My old toilet was held in place with lots of caulking around the rim. I used a vibrating saw to get under the rim of the toilet base and it still took about 15 minutes. Once the old toilet was out, there was quite a mess to clean up from the old wax ring, which was compressed out to the mounting bolts and inward even blocking part of the outlet piping. I opted for a waxless replacement. Since my outlet flange was mounted ON TOP of the tile I checked the depth of the outlet on the toilet and realized I would probably need shims to use a waxless ring. The old wax ring mess was also a sign I would need shims. I used long shims along the entire length of sides and a piece in front and in back to reduce an chance of cracking the base upon tightening. I alternate left & right tightening about every one full turn and even less as the base becomes firmer in place. Shimming and securing the base was the only time consuming party the rest of the install took just a few minutes. I like to go very slowly since breaking the base means a whole lot more time than proceeding with caution. Make sure your existing connecting hose is long enough if it will be reused since this toilet, being comfort height and 2 inches taller than older toilets, may require a longer connector. Mine did not. The toilet comes with a connector nut and washer that won't be needed if you have the kind of braided all-in-one connector that The Home Depot sells (see photo). The seat installs very quickly with just a Phillips head screwdriver. Functionality & Appearance: This unit seems quitter when it flushes and refills than other units in our house that are also fairly new having been installed in the last 3 years. One piece toilets cost more but have an attractive design in my opinion and are so much easier to clean They also eliminate any chance of a leak between the tank and the base since there is no attaching hardware and grommets to leak. One piece toilets can be quite heavy but this one is reasonably easy to handle and the low-profile of the tank and lower flush rate probably contributes to the lower weight. I think the final installed product looks great and at least initially it is functioning well too including the slow-close feature of the seat.
