Q:Our package was missing the screws for the overflow plate cover. What size/type screws are needed so I can just grab 2 from the store?

Deep soak tub overflow
Allows a maximum, deep soak vs traditional tubs/overflows. At least 2-3 more inches of water allowed in the tub

Cheap plastic junk
I’ve assembled many tubs and this drain is the worst. Screwing the metal drain into the plastic pipe requires a bit of torque. Too much and the whole assembly comes apart. After 2 turns, the cheap plastic pipe was completely stripped. For $86, you can’t make it out of metal?

It allows the tub to be fully filled with water, therefore you get the great deep tub experience.

Inexpensive Substitute May be Better
Standing in front of this item, looking down at it on the sales rack got me thinking that it is terribly overpriced. That's probably because just like the Jacuzzi/Jet Tubs that require these, sales are probably few and far in between when compared to standard tubs, hence the higher price to pay for the floor/shelf space.
I happen to be handy with small household plumbing work (replacing the toilet, faucet, etc.), so with those few skills, I felt confident I could find the parts I needed to make this work. Turns out, just a few steps away were several PVC tub drain kits with all the necessary parts: drain shoe & stopper, overflow elbow & super thick rubber gasket and overflow cover plate. I picked the one with the push to open, push to close drain, SKU#213357. The only other item needed to complete the adaption was 1-1/2 PVC, which is available in 3-foot lengths for a few dollars. Of course, one should also have handy the tools needed to cut PVC, "Purple Primer" to prep the surfaces for gluing and of course the PVC glue to put the fittings together.
There was just one other thing to consider for my particular installation: after the plumber ran the drain line through the floor, I discovered the toilet was 2-inches too close to the tub to meet building code, so I moved the tub over 2 inches. Problem was, the drain pipe was no longer aligned to the overflow opening, so a standard kit, even the expensive one would not do. The solution was to use a pair of 45 degree elbows to compensate (see pictures). That being said, the total cost without the 45-degree elbows, was $35.82. Call it a night!

Product looks really nice in the tub
This was a fairly easy installation. I actually had to replace the drain trap to fit this particular piece. Ce La Vie...everything turned out really well.
My only gripe and not a big one at all. The bottom stopper sits close to the drain opening. The drainage is good with the shower, it is a little slow when the faucet itself is running.

This is not brass
This item may be just fine, but it is not as listed. I just purchased this drain kit #1599 500 020 from Home Depot and found it is not brass. On the Home Depot web site it clearly states this is a "Lifetime Brass Univeral Drain in White." I have not tried to install it as of yet so can not comment on any other part.

Horrible plastic
This “drain “ is only a really bad plastic drain. I am a plumber and this plastic thing cannot be considered a drain. Two times hooked up after two months and now it won’t stop. Who do you think you are charging a hundred dollars for this garbage?! Now my shock kids need a bath and I can’t stop the tub and it’s a 500$ job to change out my drain AGAIN ! I am return parts of this drain, ohm not taking it all the way apart again. Just 90% of the plastic garbage. This is not American this is Chinese
