Can you remove the aerator to clean out debris?

Asked by DH March 31, 2021

Answer

DH, Yes, this aerator can be removed. It looks like it has a coin slot aerator and you will just want to use a nickel and turn it out. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

The standard 20" hoses are 3" too short. Can I replace with 24" hose lines?

CraigN, You can't replace the hoses that are already installed however you can purchase extensions for the hose. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

Is the cartridge accessible for replacement? If so, where is the set screw located?

Answer

MsPumble, Yes, you can replace the cartridge. The set screw is on the backside of the handle and you should have received an allenwrench to remove the set screw. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

Hello, Thank you for reaching out to the American Standard Consumer Connection Team. The best way to minimize spots would be to dry the faucet with a soft cloth. The Rumson Single Hole Single-Handle Bathroom Faucet was the perfect choice, paring perfectly with our new bathroom vanity. The brushed nickel finish gives a high end appearance as well as an easy to clean surface due to the spot resist. The elegant styling of the faucet provides a traditional yet modern feel to our bathroom. The faucet was easy to install and included everything needed for installation. Total installation time took around 30 minutes to complete. It has good water pressure and great temperature control between the two handles. Great faucet, study and built to last.

Great looking and heavy!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replaced an ugly builder's grade stainless faucet with the brushed nickel Rumson. What a difference! Very solid build and fairly simple to install. The pop-up drain is so much nicer than the hair catching lever drain it replaced. Everything you need is in the box. The only negative comment I have is the black plastic bottom of the drain assembly. By no way a deal killer, but would have preferred a matching piece. I'm buying 2 more for another bathroom.

This must be the easiest faucet I've ever installed; only took about 30 minutes more or less but that's because I decided to caulk the bottom plastic plate though it's not required nor recommended as long as you tighten down the nut enough (didn't want it moving around). It surprisingly comes at an excellent value and has quality hardware. The hot and cold supply lines are plenty long enough at 24" to connect to just about any water valves and no thread tape is needed for the install. I am used to using something on the thread and the traditional 1/2" iron pipe connections; if you have that thread you WILL need an adapter to the smaller 3/8". I also LOVE how easy the drain pipe was to put in, and with a push-click stopper it's a much faster install; however if you are a germophobe then maybe touching the bottom of the sink isn't the best idea and would rather have the traditional pull-close; that is a decision I leave to the consumer. Supposedly this also has a tarnish/scratch/corrosion resistant finish; we will see with time. I was happy that it does come with a deckplate as most sinks have three holes.

VERY WELL BUILT
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very easy to install and very well built. Only took about 15 mins to pull out old faucet and install this one. Love the look of it and matches our other finishes perfectly

Top Quality Faucet!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Extremely easy to install with included hoses. As a bonus, it comes with a really nice closable sink drain. Well written instructions are easy to follow and the faucet is really nice looking. You can't go wrong. Highly recommended!

For $79 this Rumson single hole single-handle bathroom faucet in brushed nickel by American Standard is a really good value. I have installed a lot of faucets by American Standard and have yet to have any issues with their products. Easy to install and made with good quality materials ensures that it will last for a long time. Even though is says its a single hole faucet, you can install it in a standard three hole sink since it comes with the optional deck place. The look is very nice and clean to easily transform the look of any bathroom.

You simply cannot go wrong with any American Standard faucet, and this Rumson Single Hole Single-Handle Bathroom Faucet is no exception. This faucet (in brushed nickel) is undoubtedly built with quality in mind. I like the fact that this Rumson faucet is also WaterSense certified, which means it surpasses EPA standards for water use (2.0 GPM or less). The faucet itself has a solid feel when turning the water on and off. The ceramic disk valve does not leak a drop and should last years before it wears out. The drain is of hard plastic, which means that it cannot rust. All-in-all, an excellent choice for any sink faucet !

The American Standard Rumson single hole bathroom faucet is a great value. The high rise spout, with single top handle, is beautiful and looks high-end. While the faucet is a single handle fixture, there is a supplied matching base for mounting on standard 3-hole center set bathroom sinks. In addition, the faucet comes with a matching pop-up drain. I'm still in awe how this faucet fixture alone has made a such a huge difference in the overall look and feel of our bathroom upgrade. The top single handle faucet operates smoothly and the flow is linear for both hot and cold; very easy to predictably operate, even in low light conditions. Overall, I highly recommend the Rumson bathroom faucet.

I chose this faucet, because of the style and the brushed nickel goes well with the other items in our bathroom. The body of the faucet is a mono-block. It was hewn out of a single piece of metal - very impressive. It has a really nice weight, Very solid is the first term that comes to mind. The lever feels good and moves smoothly. They say it has a ceramic valve - that's a great thing. Long life, no leaks, moves easily! The kit comes with an escutcheon plate - it covers a three hole sink. The drain is so-so quality. It's made of black plastic. I guess for a bathroom, it would be okay. It does have a push down drain stopper - what a great idea! Installation is a breeze. Removing the old faucet is the hardest, most time consuming part of the job. I use plumber's putty on the underside of the escutcheon plate to keep things dry. I also remove the aerator from the faucet to keep debris from clogging it up. Bolt the faucet in place using the big nuts. Hook up the hot and cold water lines. Attach the drain to the house drain. Test to make sure there are no leaks. I test both hot and cold. Install the aerator. I also test the stopper and adjust as needed. How does it work? The water pressure is excellent. The handle moves so smoothly. The aerator does a great job making less water feel like it's a lot of water. And it looks phenomenal!

The American Standard Rumson single hole and single-handle bathroom faucet in brushed nickel is a valuable addition to the upgrade of our spare bathroom. Not only is it more functional than my old faucet, the raised sprout makes it easier to wash ones hands, and the spring operated stopper is an extra bonus. With fewer parts it was easier and quicker to assemble. The only tool really needed was an adjustable wench to tighten the mounting nut and the supply lines.
