These chairs were exactly as pictures, or perhaps even better. At this price point, I was concerned that the construction might be sub-par, or poorly designed. I was pleasantly surprised - hardware was substantial, finish was excellent, and the chairs have a firm, sturdy feel when folding and opening. The canvas covers are easily removable for cleaning, and also come in a wide variety of colors if you wish to replace them. I plan to use them on my boat, but they would work equally as well as deck chairs at home. Highly recommended!

Sturdy and easy to set up and take down
This replaced similar "captain's chair" outdoor chairs that have lasted about 4 years. These American Trails Extra-Wides are easier to open and close, and the fabric is sturdier.

Pretty, but defective
I bought two of these. It looks beautiful but I had to sit on the canvas for a few days and then really push down to secure lock it into place with a shoe. I should be able to open and close easily. Now that I have it opened and locked, I don't dare to close it again. As for the other one, it had the same problem. On top of that, the canvas wood didn't fit into the groove on one side. I was too lazy to return and I really wanted to make it work so I used a knife to open the groove. It's annoying I had to do all this when it should just fit.
