      Answer This Question

A:  It will work on either right or left. I had to make my own nail hole for one of them.

A:  Perfect fit. Durable and very easy install.

A:  I used it as a right and left diverter and works great for both. Its very well sealed at the seam but i also ran my wall/roof flashing and shingles just passed the seam and i think that should work great. I do have a 6/12 ..pitch roof so im sure no water will run up the seam.

        by|Dec 5, 2018

A:  Thanks for your question. The symmetrical construction of this kickout diverter makes it usable as either a left or right diverter.

I used this product in conjunction with an outdoor electrical plug. This product created a metal roof over the electrical box. They are amazing together.

          You need this…..
Very pleased to find this and have it installed. Was having issues with rain just flowing and falling down siding where exterior walls met and causing some issues. This corrected both places we were concerned about and was worth every penny. It diverted all the rain into the gutters where it should go. Recommend to everyone!!! You need this and yes, it is code as someone else mentioned.

For those commenters who say these are not required by code - you're incorrect...
The IRC absolutely does state that these must be used - they just word what they are in other language and thus, most builders/installers either don't understand or inspectors just don't care to enforce that they should be used to save you from substantial damages your home can suffer by not using them. Here are a few great links to both an installation guide and also the language of the code from the IRC. Look for IRC section R905.2.8.3 SIDEWALL FLASHING in the 2018 revision of the codes. The 2018 version of the codes is the key one to look at. https://www.jlconline.com/training-the-trades/kickout-flashing-required-by-code-yet-often-overlooked_o https://abihomeservices.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/brick-kickout-flashing-detail.pdf https://codes.iccsafe.org/content/IRC2018/chapter-9-roof-assemblies

Very easy to install. Attached instructions were helpful. Won't know if product truly works as intended until it rains, or until melting snow is diverted. Have seen similar products on commercial buildings, glad to see this being offered at Home Depot. A bit pricy but if it works, might save lots of repair work and dollars.
