I bought this as a patch or pre-primed metal to patch a hole instead of an aluminum sheet.
The coating appears to be painted and plastic- and paint seems to adhere to it well.
Would be easier to take a piece of step flashing, cut it in the middle on one side, bend back about a 15-degree bend angle and add sealant on install - then paint that if needed... far less expensive. Every house should have a kick out where a gable abuts a wall that continues below the roof line, otherwise water infiltration and rot will occur. I have seen this first hand in Florida with T-111 siding and a house where they didn’t do kick-outs; the siding will rot in the rain and weather in a few years
But if you are looking for a quick all in one solution already painted black or white without buying all the other stuff this will work : )
DIY’ers Make sure it is installed BEHIND/under the higher, existing flashing so it doesn’t act to divert water in from the channel to behind the kickout and into the wall. If there is no flashing between the gable and the wall there is another issue there that needs to be addressed first.
