I just used by step ladder, hooked it on to the front of my gutter, making sure it was solid and that’s it. Literally a couple minutes, if that . Super easy.
A little smaller will be better so that the leaves just don't get trapped in the holes.
Is your gutter metal or vinyl? The Vinyl gutters have specific leaf guards designed for them. These guards fit on the actual hanger that holds gutter on house. If it is metal then our hinged gutter guard is typically used for half round gutter.
They fit standard gutters. However, in Colorado, these make great ice-damns in the winter. They are best removed before the first snow.
This guard is designed to only fit our Traditional Vinyl Gutter. The guard slides on to the hangers after the gutter is installed. Are you trying to install on our Vinyl Gutter? On the leaf guard there is a wide rubber part on one side. This side goes next to house. You simply look at the opposite side of the guard and there are channels that slip into the hangers. You slide the guard from one hanger to the next hanger and line up the channel.
If the store stocks our Vinyl Gutter then the store would have the leaf guard. If the store you are shopping does not have let home depot know and they can located the nearest store to you that has it.
I had the same problem. There is no instruction. The company had some YouTube videos for other products, but not this particular one. I called the company, I was put on hold for 8 minutes, and then the call was disconnected. They have no intention to help the customer. I ended up returning the product. Sorry I couldn't help.
I got rid of the ones I bought. More trouble than they are worth. In the winter, they become ice dams.
This particular leaf guard is made to only fit our vinyl gutter. The guard actually slides on the hangers that hold up gutter.
