About This Product

Amerimax's Black Metal Lock-in Gutter Guards can be used on 4 in., 5 in. and 6 in. "K" style gutters. The pre-notched design allows for overlapping which eliminates gaps between the guards. The gutter guards are easy to install - just slide the flat side under the shingle and lock the curved portion in to the front edge of the gutter. This product is designed to handle high volume water flow and hold up to the heat and cold better than vinyl gutter guards.

Highlights

  • Slides under the shingle eliminating debris accumulation on the shingles behind the guard
  • Durable powder coat paint finish prevents rusting
  • Holds up to the heat and cold unlike vinyl guards
  • Roll formed edge locks to the entire lip of the gutter rather than 2 small clips
  • Black to blend with your home's roof line
  • Works with spike/ferrule and all hidden hanger installed gutters
  • 10-year limited warranty
  • Return Policy

Q:Do these work on a TPO roof?
by|Oct 4, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  I do not think the type of roof will matter for this product. You would need to cut and bend the back of guard at a 90 degree so it can be attached to the fascia board. Once bent you install and insert screw in the part you bent to the fascia board.

Problem if you have oak trees
I purchased these from homedepot they were easy to install the problem I have is I have 13 oak trees around my property. The way these are made when the leafs fall from the trees they stick into the mesh holes of this product. So I now have a bunch of leaves sticking out of the mesh and have to try to remove them which is almost impossible. I would recommend a product that has a screen so the leafs don’t stick through the mesh

            Economical solution
Resubmitting review because “ after” photo never made it on original. Very easy to install a fairly crooked gutter

Used this for a 44’ gutter on my daughter’s house. The roofline (along with the gutter) but this product still was very easy to install and very happy with final results!

              Poor perforance
The installation was easy that these don't look bad. However, water just runs over the top of the guards and over the front of the gutter. Also, they tend to collect debris, which slowly causes it to build up causing water to run under your roof and over the front of the gutter. I highly recommend a different product.

                Easy to install
Looks like they would work on any type of gutter. The hardest part of installing them was getting them under the metal roof. Other than that they installed pretty easily. With the size mesh they should keep everything out of the gutter.

These get completely clogged with debris
The quality of these gutter guards is excellent, but once debris begins to accumulate on top, there is no where for the rain to go. You will still end up having to clean out all the gutters and remove the guards, so keep that in mind.

                    Easy and affordable!
I had 50 ft of gutters that get heavy leaves in the spring. For 69 dollars I took a risk on the 25 pack. (Minus 1 star bc HD wouldn't let me buy in bulk in store they wanted to charge me 4 dollars each for the 25 pieces. )These seem to be of good quality as they're relatively sturdy and well coated. Installation for my 4" gutters were simple, lift the shingles and slide them in. I had to cut the gutter guards with tin snips to fit corners, but it was still an easy job.

                      Modified Gutter Guard
My original gutter guards were removed when the roof was replaced. A metal drip-edge was added over lapping the rear of the gutters and the new shingles permanently cemented to the top of the drip edge. No way could I slip the rear end of the gutter guard under the shingles. Solution - create a rear flange (3/8") and use sheet metal screws to attach the flange to the rear of the gutter/drip edge. Once the rear was connected, I only had to pop the front edge into the lip of the gutter. Job done!
