A:  It's more for ice removal in snow country, I was disappointed in it's performance in scraping weeds & grass off pavement, so I wound up putting an extra sharp edge on it & use it to kill snakes & stoke my burn pile.

A:  Yes, this scraper can also chop thick Ice as well as scrape ice.

A:  It will chop ice but will need alittle strength since its really not made for chopping. For chopping, should get something less than 7 inches unless you have lots of energy.
