Ames' Blue Max Trowel Grade is a thick flexible rubber patching compound used to fill cracks in concrete, block and masonry. Blue Max Trowel Grade is paintable and literally glues the surfaces together while filling cracks in concrete and masonry. It has high adhesion and can even be used as an alternative to mortar to glue concrete blocks together to create water tanks and cisterns.

Im making a large plywood tank for fish. Can i waterproof and seal the wood with this?

I would say no based on the description of intended usage. "thick flexible rubber patching compound used to fill cracks in concrete, block and masonry" Wood might get compromised as its properties change over time especially in a damp environment.

Can this be used on Epsom rubber RV roof

Hi Wayne, are you referring to an EPDM rubber roof? If the roof is EPDM and is weathered then Blue Max Trowel Grade will adhere. However keep in mind that Blue Max is not UV resistant so you will need to top coat it with a product such as Maximum Stretch to protect from sunlight.

Do I need to fill cracks with mortar or foam caulk rope before adding Blue Max? Or, is there a maximum depth before requiring additional fill? Like maybe hairline cracks are fine but cracks with depth greater than half-inch need additional fill before applying Blue Max?

The best application in this situation is two coats of Ames Blue Max regular grade followed by two coats of Ames Granulated Safe-T-Deck. Blue Max is UV sensitive so it does need to be top coated.
