It weighs about 3 lbs.
The handle is too short.
I don't believe there are replacement blades available. I have bought several of these at various stores and have never found replacement blades. I wish they did.
I am a female and although this tool does require some practice to use properly, it does NOT require a lot of physical strength. It works using centrifugal force (I think), that is a swinging motion is the active ingredient, not brute force. This, along with a loop-hoe, have been a game changer in my yard.
Ummm. No. Well, maybe. You have to raise it over your head like a golf club and swing it down hard and follow through like you're using a golf club. Only this thing is heavy. As long as your aim is good and you don't hit the fence, you can get next to it. But you won't get the same results as a weed whacker, that's for sure.
Swing Action, but too short handled for me I gave it away ..
Sharpen with a small round stone in a Dremel tool, do both sides, just the cutting tips.
The handle is a quality and durable wooden handle that should last a long time. You might want to do some sanding on it and add a coat (or two) of a quality protective wood finish to make it last longer and to be a little more comfortable on the hands.
