This is a very good looking and sturdy camping axe. When my son-in-law saw a photo of it, he decided to go to Home Depot to purchase one for himself. It weighs 16 ounces and has a fiberglass handle, and seems like an ideal and durable tool. It is very sharp, and is high quality and well-balanced: It seems perfect for an outdoor camping trip. It also has a sheath to cover the blade when it is not in use.

Super nice little ax.
The blade protector is a soft rubber material. It slides on and off easily, while still remaining on and snug. The handle is solid and comfortable in my hand. I'm a woman, so this is a must for me. The body is solid and has a smightly heavy feel and a nice balance. Blade is sharp and worked nicely on the stump I've been trying to get out for years.

I ordered an axe. I understand now that it is called a camping axe. It is a hatchet. The label on it says claw hammer so apparently much is lost in the translation.
It is a nice hatchet. It is fiberglass so it is nice and light. It also has a small blade cover.
If I wanted or needed a hatchet this would be the one. Sadly, I have a hatchet and needed an axe.

This axe performed better than I thought it would considering the price. It has a nice handle and grip that's easy to hold onto and doesn't slip out of your hand when you're cutting with it. It was sharp enough to cut small brush right away but it did have some difficulty splitting about a 5" log, probably because it was wet. It would work better on dry wood I'm sure. I like the color and it's put together solid. For a casual camping axe it's fine but the metal does seem a bit soft and dents quite easily. My only other issue with it is that it's mis-labled as a hammer.

Receive the Anvil Camping Axe from Home Depot. The axe is very well constructed and has a nice handle. comes with the cover for the tip of the blade which is nice when throwing it your bag with camping gear. no instructions come with the axe but do you really need them ? it is what it is an Axe. only issue i see with the axe for 16 inches it is kind of light so if you plan on splitting large logs you will need a hammer to drive the axe down in the the log, but over all nice axe and would be easy to care in a backpack due to it being light weight.

I really like this camping axe. It's very balanced and feels good in your hand with its padded grip on the fiberglass handle. It's not super sharp when you get it, but some say camping axes should be a little dull so they don't stick in the wood. This one did stick in the wood, but I used it that way, raising and lowering bot the hammer and the wood and banging it till it broke through. I used an old pallet board that I wanted to cut up as kindling to try it out. It seemed to work fine. It comes with a rubber blade guard for safety. Some axes you buy have a blunt edge on the blade and you have to sharpen it yourself. I was able to easily put a sharp edge on this axe with my bench grinder. It was pretty pointed to begin with, just not sharpened. par for the course with most axes I hear. One funny thing is that it is made in Viet Nam and they must have had a bad translator because the sticker on the side says "16 oz Fiberglass Claw Hammer".
