The Apex Hitch-Mounted Receiver Hitch Crane makes it easy for 1-person to load heavy equipment or cargo weighing up to 1,000 lbs. into the bed of a pickup truck. Installation is a snap-simply attach the hitch crane to your 2 in. Class III or IV trailer hitch and begin loading from either the driver or passenger side of your truck. When not in use, this trailer hitch crane conveniently folds up for compact transportation, freeing up valuable cargo space in the bed of your truck. Manufactured from tough powder-coated steel, the trailer hitch crane features a 4 ft. L boom with 3 lift points for use with the included hook and chain. Sealed bearings provide a smooth swivel during loading and an included pin restricts rotation to 180°, preventing excessive boom arm swing.

Did the job to lift a outboard engine. The side stabilizers did not add the support needed and ended up getting in the way. I used a bottle jack to help support the davit. Not a big deal. Definitely worth the purchase.

it works
this 1,000 lb crane works. I use it to pick up a 260 lb generator and place it in the back of the pickup. easy to assemble then breaks down into 4 major components for storage. The hitch could be locked in place and adjusted closer to the truck. the receiver mount has 3 positions so that the tailgate can be down or in storage and moving down the road mode. It took about 40 min from unboxing (came in a thin plywood case) to fully installed ready to lift. swivels 360 or you can put in stopper.

Doesn't really reach in the bed for 1000lb objects
The assembly wasn't bad at all, once assembled I was looking to lift a motor and transmission that's around 1000 lbs. Well, the 1000lb crane spot is too far back to even get IN the bed. Waste of money if you are looking for something to get thats in the bed, unless its 250-500 lbs, then I can see it having a good use as it can reach in the bed, just dont expect it to reach in the middle.
