The Apollo Expansion PEX 1 in. Plastic PEX-a Barb 90 Elbow (5-Pack) is simple to install. Apollo Expansion PEX poly alloy fittings are the perfect alternative to brass in regions where water quality can negative affect brass. Apollo PEX barb fittings are a key component of the most economical potable water piping systems. Also capable of integration into hydronic heating systems, Apollo Expansion PEX couplings must be secured into place using a Apollo Expansion PEX sleeve or comparable cold expansion-type sleeve or ring (all sold separately). The Apollo Expansion PEX system is a comprehensive cold expansion piping system comprised of brass fittings, poly alloy fittings, manifolds, valves, fasteners, tools and tubing designed for implementation in water delivery systems, simple or complex.

  • Larger internal diameter of Apollo expansion PEX fittings results in a 25% greater flow rate within the system
  • Constructed of high density polysulfone alloy for superior reliability and strength
  • Cold-expansion tool (sold separately) is required for installation

Q:I didn't fully seat the pipe on the fitting. No water has ever been through the lines or the fitting can I cut the expansion ring and reuse the fitting?

A:  you can cut the ring but if you damage the barb on the fitting I would use a new one

    A:  Yes, it is easy. Just cut through the sleeve about 90% of the way, then use a slotted screwdriver in the cut, twist to break it apart, that way you won't damage your fitting. Take a heat gun or hair dryer to heat up the pex, it will pull right off. Now if you go too far with the utility knife and nick the fitting don't risk it, replace it.

              A:  Yes. The 12v version was more than adequate for me to run a 28 port home run system in our home.

                A:  Yes, the Milwaukee's expansion tool was designed for these fittings. Just need the Head for each size pipe that is being installed, Like the 1/2 in., 3/4, and 1 in. The size heads only fits one size pipe fitting.

                          Works great. I prefer pex-a as the fittings are the same size of the pipe and this don’t get resistance like the pex-b fittings that are smaller than the pipe.

                          I was using Shark Bite and they worked great. But I ran out of fittings in the middle of a job ob. So I grabbed a pack of these 90 deg fittings because HD was close. Two leaked upon pressurizing the system. So I decided to remove pressure from the system overnight and see if I could get lucky. After pressuring it up again in the morning, no leaks. That was three days ago and still good. Shew!
