Great for Tight Spots
It worked great for installing a sink. Was able to get into tight spots to install 1/2 inch Pex Pipe and Crimp rings. It does require somewhat of a strong grip once get the pump-action started. The blue light comes on once the pinch clamp is secured which is a nice feature. The tool released right off the pinch clamp. I made 8 connections and did not have a problem with the tool. $50 is a great value for pex pinch clamp tool.

Locked up on me first time.
I was in a bad spot behind my furnace trying to get a pex apollo crimp ring aroud a 1 inch pecks pipe. I had a small leak from an old copper shut off valve. I thought it be an easy project to remove the corroded ball valve and replace it with four packs clamps and a sweat to pex conversion. Boy was i wrong. First of all my original pecks tool only worked up to 3/4 of an inch pex pinch rings, so I had to make a run to Home Depot at 6:30 at night. I got the one hand pinch clamp tool made by Apollo. I played with it to make sure it released as it should. The pex rings were behind my furnace. Of course it has to be a tight spot and the tool locked up on me all four tumes. The last time I was in the far corner and I had to leave the tool on the pipe. I can’t get it off and I had to take a shower because I was so dirty from working over the furnace. Don’t buy this product!!! If you do your research you’ll see that other people have complained that it locked up on them and you can’t get it off. I was rather unfortunate because it Happens after the first clamp. And thenshe sits behind my furnace still attached to the pipe.

Broke on the first crimp
Really disappointed with this tool. Crimped my first ring and the tool wouldn't let go of the ring. No directions on what to do if this happens.

Had this tool for about 6 months and finally got the time to use it this week. It worked great right out of the package until I got to about my 4th fitting to crimp. The pawl for the ratchet stopped engaging so squeezing the handles did nothing anymore. I ended up having to squeeze with one hand and use my other hand to constantly hold tension against the release lever as the internal return spring is too weak to do it on its own. If I released even the slightest bit of resistance on the lever, the tool would pop wide open and lose any grip it had on the fitting. I might take it apart and try to swap out the stretched spring for something more robust. If that one part worked as intended this would be a near perfect tool, but as it stands it is nearly useless.

Tool works great with one hand. Much easier to use than the long handled tools for copper rings, and requires much less working room. My tool was out of adjustment before first use. The adjustment gauge is easy to use and a small turn of the adjustment screw was all that was needed. I suggest checking the adjustment before using. I will be selling my long handled copper ring tools, this one tool will replace 4 of those.
