Grand Haven Black, Extra Large, Plastic, Mailbox and Post Combo

Apparently this product is incapable of taking 90+ degree heat for more than a few days. Total waste of money! Now I'll have to go install a more traditional post - maybe I can save the mailbox itself, though it is actually too small to handle the Large Priority Mail mailing box (the box is about 3/4" too tall to fit inside).

I was worried this mailbox would be too big, or look ridiculous, but once it was in the ground I love it. It was super easy to put together, most just snaps together, only problem I had was where the back slid into a groove on the roof, the groove was pinched on both sides, I had to remove back and pry open the groove so the back would lock in properly.

My husband had the mailbox up in no time, had no problem. We think it is a very nice looking mailbox and we love it.

This mailbox is great! Easy to build and install and I'm a 59 yr old woman. It's very roomy and should be able to hold most small to medium parcels and packages.

This a very large mailbox that's at least double the volume of our old mailbox. It will hold more mail than we will ever get. It's made of double wall plastic that comes in 8 pieces; 6 for the mailbox, the mounting plate and the column. The look is nice and modern and will be a big improvement over our very old current one. The seams aren't finished as nicely as we would like, really shows the plastic quality. The size of this box may be best for small or home businesses, it can hold a lot. There's also a lot of assembly required, most is quite easy. The mailbox is 6 pieces that I had to assemble by sliding and snapping sections together. I did this on a rug. Only the last piece (the back) gave me problems. Make sure ALL the groves are lined up, do not use too much force or tools. I had to pull the sides back to get the back to align, no biggie just watch the alignment. The mounting plate is attached with four bolts to the bottom of the assembled mailbox. The bolts were missing so I got some #10 1 inch bolts and nuts that worked perfect. The post stands 41 inches from the ground to the bottom of the mailbox. This is the recommend height for a mailbox. This was installed up on a 6 inch curb so I may have to bury it 6 inches to get the correct height. If starting from scratch you will also need to purchase and install a 4 x 4 x 5 ft pressure treated post that the plastic post slides over and is attached with 4 screws that are provided. This will be the hardest part of the installation. Or like me just use the existing post if available, saved a lot of digging I just slide it over the existing post and had no digging. It seems like a very good box, but does look like plastic. My only concern is if it's water tight. We get a lot of strong winds and rain. Only time will tell.

I am so excited about this all in one mailbox and post! What a great idea and it is a needed product. It is made of heavy duty materials, the color is consistent on all parts. It does need to be assembled but the directions are very simple and 1 person should be able to handle it. The best part- no digging a hole or pouring cemenet - it will fit over my current post!

This product is simple to assemble (pieces snap into place) and install over a 4x4 wooden post. After quick assembly of the mailbox (no screws), and removal of the old mailbox, I was able to use an existing wood post. I slid the item post over the 4x4. I did cut the top of the wooden 4x4 so that the plastic sleeve post would be flush with the ground. The assembled mailbox slides and locks into place without hesitation. The holes for screws are predrilled through the plastic and it's straightforward to secure. This is an uncomplicated project. The mailbox itself is very large but looks good. Small packages will fit among the regular mail. The product has durability and strength due to the heavy plastic material.

It is easy to assembly with snap lock areas and as well as screw in areas to attach the mailbox to the post and post screws. Additional purchase needed of a mailbox anchor kit that includes a 4 x 4 wooden post and a steel drive in anchor kit. The Gibraltar post is a "slip over" post that requires the use of a wooden post that you will screw into the plastic post. The mailbox is a nice size that will hold small packages. I highly recommend this mailbox.

This extra large mailbox and post kit is the perfect size for receiving small packages. It also keeps things protected and dry. The complete kit is made with high impact plastic. I found the assembly to be very easy with the included instructions. I like that, since I have a 4'' x 4' post from the old installation, all had to do was remove the cross brace with the old mailbox and trim the wood post down to appropriate size and slip the plastic post over it and using the included screws, attach it to the wood post. It took about 45 minutes.
