Is this bucket food grade?

It doesn't say it's food grade but from the researched I did, it's made of the same material "food grade" pails are made from. Nothing should penetrate the pail's surface and nothing should leach into the pail's contents from the pail. However, I'm not a chemist or engineer so I can't guarantee they are food safe. If you're going to worry because it doesn't say food grade, these aren't for you.

Use as paint can?

I have a couple of unopened 1 gallon metal paint cans that are damaged. I want to transfer the paint to new paint cans. The paint is a moisture cure urethane, cost is over $100.00 per gallon. This paint once it touches metals and other materials, sticks and hardens without any method of removal. The new can needs to be completely air tight as the original metal cans, which have been secured using metal clips.

I don't see why not. It easily holds about 15 pounds of oil one can carry around without deforming and the handle is sturdy and well attached to the pail.

Our 2 gallon pail is .65 mil thickness. That is the thickest mil we make in a 2 gallon

We do not make the gamma lid, so we do not know if it will fit. You would have to take the gamma lid, put it on our 2 gallon pail and see if it fits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I got three of these for filtering peanut cooking oil from my turkey fryer. I drilled a ¾” hole i... I got three of these for filtering peanut cooking oil from my turkey fryer. I drilled a ¾” hole in the side of one pail and about 50 ¼” holes through the bottom of another pail. The cheaper pails I used for my first attempt cracked when I drilled the holes – these pails didn’t. The cheaper pail I used on the first attempt to carry about 15 pounds of oil from the fryer to the filter deformed and looked like the handles were about to pull out. This pail held it’s shape and the handles stayed firmly attached to the pail. The pail with the holes in the bottom goes into the pail with the through fitting. The third pail is used to carry oil from the fryer and pour into the pail with the ¼” holes in the bottom goes through the filtering agents, a metal kitchen strainer, two 5 gal paint strainers and three layers of paper towels. The oil then drains into the next pail through 2 layers of food grade cheese cloth and then out via the through fitting, down plastic tubing attached to the fitting, and into the oil’s container to be reused. After cleaning, the entire filtering system is then stored in the fryer. This cooking oil filter should last a long time. I’m very pleased with the quality of these pails.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect and the lids fit tight I bought these pails to hold 2 gallons of anodizing dye. At first I wondered if there would be extra volume, I didn't want it filled to the rim/top. It holds 2 gallons and that's about 1.5 to 2 inches below the rim/top. The lids (sold separately) fit and were liquid tight - no leaks, no spills. I bought 3 and plan to buy more for my other dyes, scrap brass and aluminum, etc. These were an excellent buy!
