Compact designed Supply Transformer
Building my first undercabinet LED lighting system. Trying out a set by Armacost and settled for a 12v version with 12-watt driver. I don't have access to run this through the walls so was trying to build my system directly under the cabinet. A couple thoughts as I go is I wish the set had an interrupter option built into these systems. You would need a switched outlet for my needs, so this is only a concern for my old kitchen.

East to wire and mount.
The 120V AC to 12 DC Armacost power supply is used to power their 12V DC LED puck lights or 12V LED strip lights. Wiring up is simple and the directions clearly indicate which wire is + and which is - and the unit is marked clearly where to terminate each wire. There is 6 feet of power cord which should allow plenty of room to mount the unit wherever you need and still reach an outlet. The unit is rated for dry and damp locations and has a 3 year limited warranty. Setup is quick and easy.

Needs a power button
Installing a light into this LED power supply was very easy. However it is has a plug and an option to hard wire it to a switch. If you use the plug, the only way to turn the light on and off is to unplug it from the outlet. I think there should be a small switch if you don't want to harwire it to a switch. The installation of the wires was very easy, you will need both a small straight blade and Phillips screwdriver.

Input 120 Volts AC --> Output 12 Volts DC
This is a pretty basic transformer to convert your standard 120 volts AC input to 12 volt DC power for your LED lights. I needed a second power supply for my under-cabinet installation in my kitchen. With the window between two sections of the cabinet, this was a simpler solution than running low voltage wires throught the walls. Also, with two power supplies, this minimizes the voltage drop across my installation. Pros: dry or damp location, 3 year limited warranty. Con: Requires Armacost Lighting low voltage LED dimmers for brightness control. Let there be light!

Very cool system.
I got the Armacost dimmable LED puck light that goes with this power supply transformer. The puck light has a long positive /negative cord (FYI, the red side is positive) that you string to the supply cord and hook easily into the cord. (I'm not sure but I think more than one light could be hooked into the power cord that turns your 110 volts AC into the 12 watts DC required for the puck light; I need to find instructions!) I thought I could use this as an under cabinet light but I realized it needs a light switch to turn it off and on, & I had removed the light switch to the upper cabinet plug because it powers my above the stove microwave. Meaning, I won't be using this system at this time. Later, I will probably add a remote controlled plug-in that has a wall switch to operate it in my closet, but an electrician or a more experienced DIYer (electrically) would have an easier time setting this up, I think.

Nice power supply for LED lights
Working on a project for my wife, I wanted to install mini LED lights in a holiday scene. Was trying to figure out how to power, probably with a battery pack. I get very tired of replacing batteries, so I was trying to avoid that option. Then I found this power supply. The block is fairly small, it will be easy to mount on the project. Remove the cap on the output end and it's easy to connect the positive and negative wires from the lights. You can even remove the attached plug and hardwire the input side as well.

This is a very helpful thing to have if you are not hardwiring in your lighting system. I would recommend putting an outlet box inside one of the upper cabinets if possible so that you can hide the power cord. This should provide enough juice to run a substantial run of lighting strings without using too much power. Plan ahead and this will be a cost-effective way to make your install that much easier.

Works great. I used it to power 6’ of 12V LED strip under a shelf and it was simple to install and worked perfectly. READ the instructions and they are ‘generic’ for the 12 or 24v units as well as 1-2A unit. Be sure you have the right driver for your application. Remove the covers to get to the connections. There are no ‘teeth’ to hold the wire insulation so be sure that you provide strain relief or use thick enough wires to be held by the smooth edges of the cover. I used the provided 110V plug to power the unit and made sure to tighten the connections before use. This driver worked great for my under shelf installation. I highly recommend this product.

PROS The 12-Watt LED power supply comes pre-wired with a 120-Volt AC cord with and is removable for direct wiring configurations. The unit has a constant voltage driver, which keeps the LED strips consistent. The power supply has two mounting points to attach the small unit in an inconspicuous place under the cabinet. CONS Made in China (would rather it be made in USA).
