How much cement do I need to go under my 10x8 Arrow Shed? And how many inches high should it go? ...

Asked by Denise May 31, 2021

Answer

Hello Denise, The slab should be at least 4" (10,2 cm) thick. It must be level and fl at to provide good support for the frame. We recommend for a proper strength concrete to use a mix of: 1 part cement • 3 parts pea sized gravel • 2 1/2 parts clean sand. Is this necessary if you’re putting the shed on a concrete pad?

I put my shed on a concrete pad and bolted the shed to the pad. But I also used the anchor kit because we have extremely high winds in my area. I have never regretted using both, and it has survived intact for over 35 years.

What type of clamps go with this kit?

Very long anchors, was hard to get them down to 3 inches above ground. They work as intended, i bought 4 more clamps to tighten the excess cable to itself. Shed is going NOWHERE during a hurricane with this anchor kit. Cable is 60ft. Cut in half gives u 30ft for front and back, so plenty of cable to tie down..

Product better than the ad
The steel and welding is top notch. I used a 1/2" pipe to turn the augers into the ground. Lots of torque needed to turn the auger in clay, though it is humanly possible.. After digging the first 12" with a post-hole digger I started the auger. I feel my 12 x 32 mini-barn is safely secured. THanks for a great prouct.

Get elevations and leveling correct and use plastic if you choose to go with a treated wood.
The building went up easily. Simple instructions, and in the invent there are any questions Home Depot gives you an address to write the company who manufactures the building. For example, I found out that it is a good idea to use a 5 mil plastic between the metal shed and the treated plywood, since the plywood's chemicals will eat away at the metal of the building. On another note it is important to get all elevations and leveling correct before putting the building in place. In my case I used cement pilings to build the structure for the plywood.
