Will this work to put up some 3/16" thick paneling? It seems by some answers, this gun will not insert a 5/8 or 9/16 staple completely into the wood. If that's the case, why would Arrow build something that can use larger staples than it will push into the wood??? Thanks for any advice you can give to easily put up 2 sheets of paneling with minimal expense.
Asked by: HomeDIY
Depends on hardness of paneling and backing that you are stapling into. Most likely it will not do the job to your satisfaction

will this work good for nailing the backs onto furniture? soft wood

Asked by: Steve
I would not depend on it. Mine had a hard time sinking brads or staples into small, soft woods for picture framing & decorative trims.

Is there a parts list somewhere? Or a diagram? I was using it today and all of a sudden I noticed it was not driving brads all the way like it has before, not even half way. Then I noticed the blue button on the end was not sitting like before. Then I found a spring, looked like it goes in the carriage for the blue button. Put that in like I thought it went, but still sits off when I close and lock it. There are two holes in the blue button and there is one metal pin, but nothing in the other hole. Is there suppose to be another pin? Seems like there should be to hold the button and pressure in place. I looked on the arrow site and no parts breakdown to see if anything is missing. Even googled it. Was really liking this tool, but now it's pretty much useless. Only drove like maybe 200 staples and brads. Shouldn't break this fast. Don't even know what, if anything is missing. Purchased at my local HD store. Don't think I even have the receipt. Any one have a parts diagram?

Sorry for the delay, I was out of town. Mine is packed up, ready to be returned for the same reason. You may be able to find the review I posted with pictures, October 5, 2018, on the HD website. There are no parts list or diagram included with mine. Just a small Assembly and Operations Guide. I would like to add that in response to my review, Arrow requested I contact them, which I just did via email. I'm now waiting to hear back from them. I will update my review with what ever response I get from them. If you haven't returned yours yet, you may want to reach out to Arrow first: customercare@arrowfastener.com.

Customer Reviews

6 in. Electric Stapler and Brad Nailer is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 2241.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous Product I read reviews online for electric staplers and all had such mixed reviews. Many said that it took 2 hands to use it, or that they stopped working in the middle of a project, or that you had to hold it at an angle to make it work, or that you still had to squeeze the trigger hard. I have arthritis in my hands and needed to reupholster 2 kitchen chairs. By myself. After reading the reviews I decided to buy it local and not order online. I was hoping someone at the local store could help me choose one that would work for what I needed. I went in and could find no-one to help me so I read the boxes for all their electric staple guns (they only had 3 to choose from) and I picked this one. It was amazing. I found it easy to load the staples, easy to use, and I loved the safety features and the light at the tip. Got those chairs done in record time. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Enough Power to Penetrate Wood This tool lacked the power to drive any staples into wood. This unit functioned so poorly I thought surely I had to be doing something wrong. I recruited a couple people and asked them to help me with my project. The outcome was the same no matter what they tried. One person leaned all of their weight onto the tool and pushed down and the stapler still failed. I was stapling fabric onto a square wooden frame to make wall art. The wood itself was a soft wood furring strip that I easily used a manual "light duty" stapler on and it worked fine. So I tried it with two softer materials. I was putting fabric over a wicker chair seat. I had a whole different problem here. There is a safety tip that needs to be fully depressed for the tool to fire a staple. The wicker was too flexible and soft to depress this safety button on the tip so the tool did not fire at all. When it did, it was misfired and crooked. I completed both projects using a light duty manual stapler just fine. This tool simply didn't work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works "GREAT" and is easy to use for an inexperienced old man like me I am a disabled man that is trying to repair my mobile home. It needs a lot of work and I cannot afford to pay somebody to do the work. I recently bought the T50AC professional stapler and nailer. This tool has allowed me to do things that I could not do, like hammering nails or especially the staplers that are made to hammer in. It is simply "AWESOME". Easy to use, fast, durable, electrical power, a light so that you can see where you are stapling or nailing. I see that I can use it for so many things in my home, slowly but surely I will get them done. This product is for everybody, a professional or a do it yourself HomeOwners that cannot afford to pay someone to do many things that we can do ourselves. I will do another review after I tackle all the work ahead (THE TEST OF TIME AND USE). Thank you, "ARROW"!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The only thing I disliked was the plastic latch on the loading gate. I found this stapler to be more powerful than two other types of electric staple guns I have used in the past. My son and I used this tool to reupholster two ottomans and it it saved a huge amount of time. It did leave some staples sticking up that needed to be driven in with a tack hammer but not too bad considering the number of staples we used. I did feel a little cheated when I saw the plastic latch on the loading gate considering the price of the tool. I have had an arrow T50 staple gun for years and am more used to the fantastic chrome steel latch on that model. This latch works in the opposite direction of the T50 so every time I tried to move it in the wrong direction I felt like I was going to break the plastic. I liked the LED light that lit up the nose of the tool. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for reupholstering I bought this tool for reupholstering eight dining room chairs. I was using an arrow mechanical stapler and quickly realized my aging hands would not survive the job. My friend recommended the electric stapler and it is exactly what I needed to complete the job quickly with and professional results. The electric stapler works great and is easy to use with one exception. I found it a bit difficult to release the magazine and pinched the palm of my hand a couple of times when reinserting the magazine. It took a couple of punches before I figured out how to safely close and lock the magazine. This tool will also be great for overhead stapling of insulation and virtually eliminates the pain and fatigue resulting from repetitive motion. UPDATE: Since my original review posted October 5, 2018, (see below) an “Arrow Product Expert” responded and requested I contact them. When I responded, I let them know I had delayed returning it, as the receipt was trying to be located. It could not, but a rep at Home Depot stated I could get a store credit since it is in the original box with UPC. Arrow replied: “Do you want to return it to the store or to us?” I simply replied “I would prefer to return it to Home Depot”. Arrow replied: “So to return to the store you will just need your receipt.” I had actually, considered taking the credit and purchasing another in the hopes mine was just a dud but this response from their Customer Service Lead, gives me no confidence that their product is any good and not worth the frustration of another failed tool. Original review submitted October 5, 2018 with photos. “Must have gotten a dud. Put this on my wish list after reading many favorable reviews, and thinking surely this would work for light trim, picture frames, and other small projects I find to do. Received as a Christmas gift 2017. Appreciated it came in a nice case for storage, takes a good variety of staples & brad sizes. But after numerous attempts during the year, on various light duty projects, this item is boxed back up for return. Out of the box this item malfunctioned. The spring in the mechanism to lock/load the staples/brads pops out every time I open it. Figured I could deal with that however, I've only tried to staple or brad soft pine wood or small thin trim and there never is enough pressure for the staple or brad to sink in properly. The brads come out in multiples and just causes more work and not worth the frustration.”
