Will this work to put up some 3/16" thick paneling? It seems by some answers, this gun will not insert a 5/8 or 9/16 staple completely into the wood. If that's the case, why would Arrow build something that can use larger staples than it will push into the wood??? Thanks for any advice you can give to easily put up 2 sheets of paneling with minimal expense.
Asked by: HomeDIY
Depends on hardness of paneling and backing that you are stapling into. Most likely it will not do the job to your satisfaction

6 in. Electric Stapler and Brad Nailer is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 2484.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous Product I read reviews online for electric staplers and all had such mixed reviews. Many said that it took 2 hands to use it, or that they stopped working in the middle of a project, or that you had to hold it at an angle to make it work, or that you still had to squeeze the trigger hard. I have arthritis in my hands and needed to reupholster 2 kitchen chairs. By myself. After reading the reviews I decided to buy it local and not order online. I was hoping someone at the local store could help me choose one that would work for what I needed. I went in and could find no-one to help me so I read the boxes for all their electric staple guns (they only had 3 to choose from) and I picked this one. It was amazing. I found it easy to load the staples, easy to use, and I loved the safety features and the light at the tip. Got those chairs done in record time. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Enough Power to Penetrate Wood This tool lacked the power to drive any staples into wood. This unit functioned so poorly I thought surely I had to be doing something wrong. I recruited a couple people and asked them to help me with my project. The outcome was the same no matter what they tried. One person leaned all of their weight onto the tool and pushed down and the stapler still failed. I was stapling fabric onto a square wooden frame to make wall art. The wood itself was a soft wood furring strip that I easily used a manual "light duty" stapler on and it worked fine. So I tried it with two softer materials. I was putting fabric over a wicker chair seat. I had a whole different problem here. There is a safety tip that needs to be fully depressed for the tool to fire a staple. The wicker was too flexible and soft to depress this safety button on the tip so the tool did not fire at all. When it did, it was misfired and crooked. I completed both projects using a light duty manual stapler just fine. This tool simply didn't work.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from When it works it is great, but it is a bit unreliable The staple gun doesn't just bang the staples out consistently. It will bang some out, then it will not fire at all. And this isn't because of any jam of the staples. It seems to have a hard time detecting the level of the surface before firing, and this can be really irritating, since sometimes I am trying to get the staple at a slight angle in order to fit a tight space. So the problem in other words seems to be with the sensor at the tip of the gun. Although the electric stapling is powerful and fast when it works, I would probably just buy the heaviest duty mechanical gun if I had to do it again, since then there would be no doubt about putting the staple exactly where I want it when I want it. Instead of firing this gun, nothing happens, and having to play with a while before it fires again. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Right tool for the right person doing the right job! I try to add tools to my arsenal that are able to function for various jobs - light diy construction to crafts. I was looking to add a second stapler with a standard crown for craft projects. The issue is that my wife would be using this tool more often than me. Pneumatic staplers are effective, but heavy (relatively) and require the compressor. She needs assistance to set up the portable compressor (which I don't mind doing) and the pneumatic staplers gun is difficult for her to use. In doing research, I came across the Arrow T50AC. I decided (with hesitancy) to purchase it. Turns out it is the right tool for the right person doing the right job. I have also used it and it has plenty of power to push staples flush into the wood. It is a good tool to do a variety of jobs effectively. It was a good purchase!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for reupholstering I bought this tool for reupholstering eight dining room chairs. I was using an arrow mechanical stapler and quickly realized my aging hands would not survive the job. My friend recommended the electric stapler and it is exactly what I needed to complete the job quickly with and professional results. The electric stapler works great and is easy to use with one exception. I found it a bit difficult to release the magazine and pinched the palm of my hand a couple of times when reinserting the magazine. It took a couple of punches before I figured out how to safely close and lock the magazine. This tool will also be great for overhead stapling of insulation and virtually eliminates the pain and fatigue resulting from repetitive motion. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seems to work well I am in the middle of building a chicken coop. I knew I'd never be able to live through stapling all the hardware cloth with a manual stapler gun, so I chose this Arrow electric stapler. So far, it seems to work well. It is easy to use, and for someone with arthritis such as myself, it is a godsend. Just press down, and pull the trigger. No force is needed. Easy. Not every staple fires perfectly, but most go in fairly well. The only thing that was difficult was trying to get the cartridge open. The manual doesn't do a good job explaining it, but I found a good video online by Arrow showing how to do it, and it was easy after I realized which button to be pushing (the black one, not the blue one). I would recommend this product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
