Will this work to put up some 3/16" thick paneling? It seems by some answers, this gun will not insert a 5/8 or 9/16 staple completely into the wood. If that's the case, why would Arrow build something that can use larger staples than it will push into the wood??? Thanks for any advice you can give to easily put up 2 sheets of paneling with minimal expense.
Asked by: HomeDIY
Depends on hardness of paneling and backing that you are stapling into. Most likely it will not do the job to your satisfaction

is this gun good for rescreening my porch
Asked by: tony
Screening a porch should never be done with a staple gun. Buy a screening system for re-screening your porch. The screening system is installed with wood screws.

6 in. Electric Stapler and Brad Nailer is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 1767.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Half way there The Arrow T50-AC-R Electric stapler and brad nailer lacks the penetration power of even manual hand staplers and nailers. I tested it on a piece of pine (soft wood) and it failed to execute the 1/2 inch staple even 1/2 way into the wood. It would not be capable of putting carpet padding into the floor. It weighs 3 pounds and the cord adds another 1 pound. The literature states only use Arrow staples and brads. It did not require any oil. It had no adjustment capability to make the staple go in deeper. To give you an idea of what depth it is intended for it is about the size of a big box store wooden ruler IF it could penetrate it. It came with one box of 1250 1/2" Arrow staples.

I had hoped for better results. Pine, mdf and hemlock were all the wood I tried to work with. The brads were only half inch. I experienced multiple jams, failure to properly feed and a slow rate of use. I got so mad that I grabbed a hammer and tried to seat and hammer the brads on my own. That turned into a bigger failure. Sadly, it seems like I will need to wait and save up for a pancake compressor and a brad gun. This tool was a failure and ended up in the garbage. So much for saving money for tools I won't use but one time. I wanted so much for this to work out. Bummed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use!!! We wanted to host a family dinner party, but our kitchen chairs were embarrassing to say the least. With only a few days to spare, we decided they needed to be reupholstered. Rather than use the manual style stapler that my husband already had, he bought this electric Arrow stapler. That decision was a lifesaver. The Arrow stapler was easy enough to be used by my husband (obviously), myself, and even for our 16 year old son. It never jammed and reloading staples was a breeze. As a mom, I especially liked the safety feature...no shooting an eye out here!!!!! Keep up the great work Arrow!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Arrow electric stapler line has lots of options I had a previous Arrow electric stapler that died and replaced it with this T50-AC. My last Arrow stapler was smaller and lighter and could do both staples and small brad nails. In the new product line from Arrow, the smaller version can no longer handle the brad nails so I upgraded to this one. The disadvantage is that it is heavier and and larger, which can make it more difficult to fit in tight places. The free canvas carrying bag is helpful but has no place to store the staple boxes, which is an oversight. This bigger stapler can handle larger brad nails and seems to have more power. Rated 5 out of 5 by from love this stapler I have limited mobility and strength in my right hand, and since I am right handed it made it very hard for me to use a regular, non-electric staple gun. This gun is great, a very good weight, yet not too heavy, but heavy enough that you do not have to bear down on it with your body weight to have it operate smoothly. I recovered the seats on my dining room chairs with this staple gun and the whole job went much easier. We are putting new trim up in our kitchen and my husband can't wait to use the brad feature on that. A plus is that it has a cord that is a good length, not a stubby 12 inches before you plug it into an extension cord.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Mixed I like the way this stapler looks and feels. I hadn't had much success in the past with electric units, but decided to give this a try as it is capable of firing 14mm staples, and does it rather successfully into wood. While attempting to install carpet on stairs, the gun would misfire or simply not respond after just a few successful staples. The cons are significant, however. It does misfire at times, Not really worth $60 largely due to its operational inconsistency. Will probably try another project before making a decision whether to return it. Disappointed so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile Electric Stapler This is a very versatile 6 IN. ELECTRIC STAPLER AND BRAD NAILER by Arrow. Easy to use right from the box. A good quality staple gun for a variety of lighter duty tasks like upholstery, crafts, paneling and penetrating light weight woods, metals and plastics. Stapler is lightweight to use for extended period of time without getting hand fatigue. Can be used with all sized of T50 staples and 5/8" brad nails. User friendly features include a motor driven Spiral Drive Mechanism for consistent and fast stapling for your project. Also nice quick access magazine and low stapler light indicator. Very affordable stapler that tackles the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool to have. Covering pine table tops with marine vinyl, and needing to work from underneath, I don't see how I could have done it without a good electric stapler like this one. I used stainless steel staples, which cost a lot more than the normal carbon steel staples, but they're worth it when the project will stay outside all year. You have to have the tool pressed properly onto the working surface in order for the safety mechanism to allow the stapler to work. It's not a problem. Also, some people try to use a staple the tines of which are too long. A 1/4" size staple works very well for what I did. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
