A:  The wheels on the rake go up & over the shingles ., so it is not a problem. If you have a tile, metal or slate roof you can purchase the AVA750 model with 3" wheels.

A:  The rake has little wheels that roll it up the roof. Asphalt shingles are not a problem. If you have a thick tile roof the rollers are too small for that. Look at the video available in the description, at about 48 seconds in they show how the wheels work on shingles with no snow to obscure what is happening.

A:  This is well worth the price and great value. For the past two years including snowmagedon the rake worked as advertised and pulled the majority of the snow off in one swoop. The telescopic aluminum handle is lightweight and fairly easy to use. One thing to watch out for is if you are on a ladder too close to the roof line and the snow is very deep you will pull it off right on you on the ladder so be careful. Once you have pulled the snow off the roof then you will have a big pile of snow that will need to be shoveled away from the house. All in all I really like my rake and would recommend it to anyone. Now for the plastic that slides out and pulls the whole depth of snow off in one swoop, I never could get this to work right, likely not enough snow depth, the snow was not packed just perfect for it to work properly. Even though it doesn't work all that well for me, it is a nice wall hanger that brings color to an otherwise bland boring inside wall of our storage shed. Yes it can be extended out to 30', it is a little flimsy in that it bows some but feels plenty stable when extending to reach the ridge. Anything more rigid would be too heavy to handle, so they did a great job of balancing the weight to the usability.

A:  Yes I think so. It only comes with 3 poles but is very strong so you could by extra sets. It reaches about 6-8 feet on to the roof from the ground so the rest slides to you or you may need to get on the roof. shovel the upper part first then pull the rest down. That way you have an edge to keep you on the roof. I got almost 20ft. up with the slide part but you need to use it. when snow is fresh.

A:  This works great as is. I do not know if you can buy extension poles for it but you would not want to; it is heavy enough as is. If you have ever used a roof rake before, you know that even at the standard length, it can be tricky to raise it up onto the roof and maneuver due to it being top heavy. Trying to extend it to twice the standard length would likely make it impossible to maneuver and I am guessing the pole would snap in half anyway. So I would have to say no. If your roof is that big, this may not be the best way to clear it.
