The 4 in. Quick-Strip Wire Brush from Avanti Pro is outfitted with rigid bristles to scrape and clean a variety of surfaces with your power drill. Three clusters of wire strands spin up to 4000 RPM to effortlessly strip away unwanted material and blemishes from fiberglass, masonry and metal. A: No, but it depends on what you call ''damaging''. Whenever you use a mechanical device to remove a surface coating there will be some damage to the metal.

A: Have one of these and it holds the wire(s) quite well used it on several projects biggest project was stripping a metal tractor wheel that was painted with Rustoleum about 45 years ago the brush is still OK. I always wear a plastic face shield when working with brushes.

A: No this brush does not throw off those pieces of metal but it is not thin strands of wire but thicker rigid bristles. It works great.

A: The wires on this are pretty strong, but I notice the occasional wire on the floor I'm stripping. I haven't seen any fly off, I'll just notice one on the floor.

Works great on flaking & loose paint on masonry!

I had a interior cinder block wall that water seepage had caused the latex paint to bubble. I dreaded having to wire brush many square feet on a 40 X 50 X 20 building. This tool made the job quick & easy. I got the best results running the drill at lower speeds.

Slips from mandrel

Aggressive tines could be of great use if the body of the tool was better built and/or not made of plastic. Plastic body slips from the mandrel easily

Over priced Poor Quality

Fell apart after 2 hrs of use. I used to strip old paint off radiator. Not worth the 25$. Went to complain at HD and told they would not accept return because it was used. Lesson learned.
