This awning uses a pulley system which pulls the frame up and the fabric folds in half. Please see the attached image. You can also see the instructions on the left above next to the Product Overview.
If you have an Awnings in a Box™ replacement cover, please email me at eric@idmworldwide.com and we can discuss your options.
Mary, This awning needs to attach to the studs under your siding such as the actual Window Frame. I cannot answer your question more directly because I cannot see your specific instance. Depending on what sort of siding, you might have to purchase additional hardware such as screws and maybe even Mollies to attach this awning If you go up on this webpage you will see a section on the left called Product Overview. To the right of that is a section called Info and Guides where you can find such things as the Assembly Instructions. These awning can be installed over siding, wood, brick, etc. as long as they are attached to the frame underneath.
Grey with white stripe
All of our awnings are made with 100% solution dyed, mildew resistant, acrylic fiber fabric. Solution dying is a process in which the pigment or dye is added, along with UV stabilizers, early in manufacturing. This locks the color in so it cannot be faded by the sun or bleached out. Solution-dyed acrylic is also natural at resisting stains, and with added stain release finishes, it is even more stain resistant. Additionally, the UV stabilizers keep the sun from "dry rotting" the fabric which is when a fabric that is exposed to the sun will lose strength and break down.
Could never assemble it because the center rods are missing!
Sorry, No. The next size is 8 Ft. but it should still work.
recommended is at least 3" however, depends more on the material around the window. as an example: modern windows with metal frames will at protrude out from the window itself sometimes up to 5" beneath the stucco. These frames are very difficult to drill into - trust me - this also applies to Sliding doors frames as well. try a stud finder to determine where the metal frame ends and mount out (or up) a couple of inches from there.
Check the difference in awning material, if no difference check the frame material, if still no difference many times the more unpopular selling colors such as Ebony or Sand will be cheaper than say Burgundy or multi colored (striped) awnings.
