Q:We want to cover 1 wall in our kitchen that has epoxy paint on it. Can we sand, then use this and cover with paint?

Answer This Question

A:  Hi Linda, thank you for your question. Our Bonding Primer is a great option for your project. Sanding will help ensure you get the best adhesion, and the primer can be applied over the epoxy coating before your topcoat paint. Have a great day! -Lina

A:  Hi Thomas, thank you for your question. As it turns out, we do not recommend our Bonding Primer on roofs or asphalt shingles. Instead, you can use our Multi-Surface Primer and Sealer No. 436. Good luck with your project! -Giovanna

        Answer This Question

A:  Hi John, thank you for your question. We do not recommend any of our products on surfaces that will be submerged underwater or get wet constantly as the coating will not hold up. I suggest looking into specialty products for your project. Have a great day! -Giovanna

Door shows through the primer and matching door paint
Wood door shows right through even after multiple coats of Behr white door and trim paint painted after it.

This stuff is great. I refurbished some used cabinets I purchased at a second hand store. They had the original stain. I just put the bonding primer right over it, and didn't even need to sand. I give it 5 stars because all I did was use the bonding primer, let it dry, then paint. Tooooo easy.

After 10 years no peeling or blistering on wood
I used this bonding primer on some old exterior trim 10 years ago then over coated with premium plus acrylic for the weather coat. I expected that I might need to paint again in 7 or 8 years but after 10 years its still in good shape. Prep work makes all the difference, I removed all the old coats of paint before applying the Behr 432 bonding primer on the trim. No peeling or blisters on the old wood, only spots that blistered were where I painted over some prepped concrete window sills. There were a just a few spots where I left old paint mistakenly thinking it might make a viable concrete primer. Touched up those spots and all is well. May top coat in a couple years but the hard work is done.

This primer made a huge difference over the first primer I was using. Hands down my go to for future projects.
