    Does it come with primer
    ByJun 2, 2026

    Answer This Question

Hi Francis, thank you for your question. The Porch and Patio Floor Paint is not self-priming. We recommend using a primer, such as the Multi-Surface Primer and Sealer on uncoated and previously coated wood surfaces. Or, the Concrete Bonding Primer No. 880 on uncoated and previously coated concrete surfaces. Have a great day! -Giovanna

      Answer This Question

Hi Jim, thanks for the question. Since our Porch & Patio Floor Paint isn't designed to be driven on, driving on the paint would probably cause it to peel up prematurely. If you have additional questions about your project, please reach out to us directly. Our customer care team is happy to help. -Ronald

I have a new shed floor (plywood) that I am looking to protect. If I do a primer, and two coats of this, am I able to put a polyurethane coat over the top of it without issue? Will that help protect the paint more, or be more of a hassle in the future?

Hoi Jackson, thanks for the question. A separate coting isn't needed over our Porch & Patio Floor Paint. One it has cured, it is a very durable coating. This paint was applied over existing water-based stain, and other than the smooth areas, covered it perfectly. Very thick and easy to apply

Painted my concrete store room floor in my house. Great color and coverage one coat, water base easy cleanup, dense color hid all the flaws in the floor and applied well with painting pads.

Application (2 coats) went as expected with no surprises. The problem appeared after coats dried - there is a clearly visible line from where the sections of the floor were painted. Saw the lines after the first coat dried, assumed I needed a second coat, but after the second coat dried, the sections painted were still visible by lines (see photos). Coverage was otherwise good, durability to be determined as I'm just starting to move equipment back into the room.

                  Love the results!
We had gross indoor/outdoor carpet in our sunroom and pulled it out. After thoroughly etching, using a wire scrub brush and Behr concrete etching solution, and rinsing a few times, I let it dry 24 hours. I applied the first coat of Behr concrete paint, waited 12 hours and applied a second coat. It covered great! I used the color washed khaki and one gallon covered about 200 square feet (with two coats). I absolutely love the results! I’ll see how this stands up and then do the rest of our patios and porches. For reference of season weather etc, this was a sunny, breezy weekend in Oklahoma. The humidity was low so that probably helped! 😊

                    Excellent coverage
Used the low luster porch enamel to redo my office. Excellent alternative vs. epoxy....so long as you take your time and plan ahead. Idk....Behr gets no love sometimes.

Beautiful outcome for my ceramic tile floors!
I painted over my outdated ceramic tile floors with this paint. I had it tinted with the blackest black they have. Beautiful outcome for my kitchen, breakfast nook, and entryway from my garage. I’m in love with my floors again and it was very cost effective!

                        Very Disappointed
I applied this to my deck in 2023 and have noticed some peeling. Today I started to clean and now it is really peeling everywhere. Not sure why this is happening. Used on my front porch last year and it's not peeling at all.

Paint perfectly matched existing trim work on house entrance. Applied to entry door which was a long ago faded & beat up light yellow made the door really pop and accentuated the wood grain. The low sheen gives just the right amount of shine without distracting from surrounding siding. Just an all around perfect choice.
