Do I need to prep a brand new fence before applying ST waterproofing stain and sealer?
Hi JaneH, thank you for your question. All wood, regardless of how new or old, should be in good condition, free of loose substrate or coating, and cleaned with our All-In-One Wood Cleaner. The cleaner will not only clean the surface, but also open the wood pores to prepare your surface for the best adhesion. We recommend letting the wood dry for at least 24 hours before staining. Applied product on flipped over cedar boards and power sanded, vacuumed clean. Applied product. After 2 days it looks like the product is resurfacing. I can clearly wipe it from the boards with a paper towel. Now what.

It is mentioned that you need to do a maintenance coat when you notice wear or fading. How do you do maintenance coat? Just reapply the same product over what was already there?

what happened if it unexpectedly rains prior to the four hour dry time? do you need to reapply the coat after it dries out?

Can you use this product on a log cabin home siding that has been sanded completely down to the bear wood. And doesn’t need any other product with it.
