BEHR PREMIUM Cabinet, Door & Trim Interior/Exterior Satin Enamel offers excellent flow & leveling and dries to a hard, durable finish. The paint provides all-weather protection which is great for exterior projects. Its outstanding block resistance allows for quick return to service, making it ideal for use on cabinets, doors, trim, windows, shutters, and woodwork. This product can also be used on other properly prepared and primed substrates, such as drywall, masonry, vinyl, and metal.
Doors won't stick after 2 hours (Darker colors may require additional dry time. Longer dry time required in cooler temperatures and higher humidity.)
Priming is recommended over all properly prepared coated or uncoated surfaces. For all interior surfaces, use a product such as BEHR Kitchen, Bath & Trim Interior Stain-Blocking Primer & Sealer No. 75. For all exterior surfaces, use a product such as BEHR Acrylic-Alkyd Enamel Undercoater No. 437 or BEHR Multi-Surface Interior/Exterior Stain-Blocking Primer & Sealer No. 436. Follow all label instructions. For best results, sand primer coat prior to topcoating.
Ultra Pure White is part of BEHR's Designer Collection Color Palette
Covers up to 400 sq. ft. per gallon depending on application method and substrate porosity
Q:Can you use Flood Floetrol additive with the cabinet paint?
by|May 31, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Hi Ronald, thanks for your question. As it turns out, we don't recommend adding Floetrol to our products. We haven't tested this, and we can't say how the additive would affect the performance of the paint. Have a great day! -Christina

Q:I need to have my window sills repainted. Do I need to use oil base or is an interior exterior semi gloss ok? (Ex. Paint and primer in one?). Thank you.

Answer This Question
A: Hi Romi, thank you for your question. You do not have to use an oil-based paint to repaint your window sills. Our Cabinet, Door, & Trim Semi-Gloss Enamel is a great choice for your project as it provides a hard, durable finish. I'd like to mention that this product is not a paint and primer in one, so we recommend priming the surface with our Multi-Surface Primer (No.436) beforehand. Please reach out to us directly if you have any other questions. -Lina

Q:If I am painting over semi gloss painted cabinets, do I need to prime of just lightly sand?
by|May 23, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Hi Colleen, thanks for the question. When using the Cabinet, Door & Trim Enamel, it's best to lightly sand the cabinets to remove the gloss and then prime them with our Kitchen, Door & Trim Primer. Then you're ready to apply the paint. Good luck with your project! -Ronald

Q:I will be painting my cabinets. What is the difference between this Behr satin cabinet paint and Behr Dynasty satin or Behr Marquee satin? My thought is with the Dynasty and Marquee paints being paint and primer, can you eliminate the priming steps?
by|May 19, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Hi NABTU, thanks for your question. Yes, you can certainly eliminate the priming step if you use our Dynasty or Marquee paint on your cabinets. I recommend using our Dynasty paint as it provides the same exceptional durability and quick dry time as our Cabinet, Door & Trim Paint. Have a great day! -Christina

Orange Peel is bad!
Been using SW Emerald with really good results on my cabinets but they couldn’t mix the color I wanted. HD guy said ‘no problem! Did a test piece on a new piece of 3/4” birch plywood. Sanded, primed, sanded, cleaned and applied the first coat using a 4” 1/4” nap roller. Immediately I knew it was going to be a problem as it orange peeled right away. Just as bad after a second coat. So disappointed! But a good thing I did a test piece before starting in my finished pieces.

Brushes On Great, Sprays Beautifully
We decided to paint the 15 year old Kent Moore cabinets in our kitchen. We washed all with TSP and then lightly sanded with 320 grit paper. Then we brushed (and sprayed) on primer, since the paint does not include primer. My wife brushed in face frames, while I HVLP sprayed the doors and drawer fronts. We are extremely happy with the paint. Goes on like butter!

Great paint.
It works very well and looks great. I chose Whispering White as the color. I wish it would be sold in a 5 gallon container as well. I ended up buying 6 gallons total as we were refinishing all the cabinets, doors, trim, vanities, etc. in a large home.

Don’t bother with this paint
If you are going to spray this all in one shot with a high quality sprayer it’s fine. Hit or miss with Graco 360 VSP tips. Gets tacky almost immediately upon application and does not level after that. Since it says “DO NOT THIN” even though it clearly needs the working time extended and is too thick to shoot reliably I’m going to stop using it.
When I tested all of the trim paints at HD, this was the best one and it still suffers from the too thick nature of Behr paint.

Not sure why there’s so many good reviews
I bought this to try and add a more “professional” looks to a shoe cubby I was building. The project was made from 3/4 birch ply that I sanded to 600 grit, I used 2 coats of the primer that Behr recommended on the back of the can, the primer went on very smooth, then I applied this paint with the recommended roller, and it came out very blotchey, and DID NOT self level. Ruined the finish of my cubby, I had to sand off the paint, and repaint, 0/10 do not recommend.
