Only needed one coat
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Painted fascia, gutter, and downspouts. After pressure washing home, these areas still had black streaks and still looked dirty. Behr paint covered in one coat. Brushed on very easily in no time. Took no time to dry. If it would have been needed, I could have applied second coat easily. The house looks fantastic and I am completely satisfied. This was no surprise to me, as I discovered Behr paint decades ago, and I only use Behr paint since. Paint is super durable, easy to clean and stays vibrant as the day you paint with it. Have used Behr interior, exterior, masonry, deck paint. My house is beautiful using this paint and will never use anything else, but Behr paint products. Thank you Behr paint

    Love this paint!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was getting tired of the lack of durability and layers of products required for chalk painting. I gave this product a go on My dining table and can’t speak highly enough of it. Occasionally cutlery or pkate may leave a grey mark etc ( silly me chose white!) But with a pea size amount of Vim it’s gone and the table looks as good as new. Goodbye chalk and mineral paint!

            Cabinet perfect
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this last year during winter. My wife said paint the Oak woodgrain china cabinet off white to match the new Dinning room table. Used a sanding sealer to fill grain marks and put a thin coat of primer, then a thin coat of Urethane alkyd matching color then another thin coat on top of those. I looks great and is smooth as formica cabinet top and durable enough to handle my size 15 shoe scuffs. She is happy.

Alkyd paint is very durable for bathroom vanity
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I painted my bathroom vanity, and it turned out beautiful. I had to wait a couple of weeks for the paint to cure. It was worth the wait. Very durable finish and rich color. The lady in the paint department was very knowledgeable too.

Great Alternative to Oil Based Paints
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for a restoration project on a historic building. It is a great alternative when you want a more durable paint for windows and doors without the toxic fumes and long dry times.

                            Paint that last!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Growing tired of two bureau drawer sets due to their dark color and ALWAYS showing every speck of dust, I refinished them using this Behr paint. Just give the paint proper drying and time to cure. You will love the outcome. Now our bedroom looks brighter and fresher. I did the entire units using a small foam roller as I do not have a paint sprayer. Just as smooth as if sprayed. Remember to use a primer first. No need to sand off old finish.

Says 2 coats, Needs 4 with a Primer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super disappointed in this paint. Bought it for our new wood pantry shelves. We primed the wood with high end primer, applied the 2 coats it says to use and it still needs at least 2 more coats to be fully coated. The texture feels more like a coarse flat paint instead of a smooth satin. Normally we love Behr paint, but this has been a waist of time and $.

Hi xxspyderman, thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear your door's coating bubbled and cracked so soon.

To get your project back on track, we'd recommend removing all the loose paint, cleaning your surface, allowing it to dry completely, and touching up the affected areas.

                                      Durable, hard finish
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my trim and have loved it for that- it’s hard and durable and hasn’t chipped or cracked. I also used this to paint my front door, a dresser and a vanity. While I do love the finish the product has some cracks in it. This could be from heat or cold exposure, or possibly that I didn’t seal the items I used it on. Overall I’m satisfied but will need to do some touch ups .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I originally bought and tried this paint a year ago and used it for a bench I’d made. The coverage and durability has been amazing. I’ve since bought more, and it now covers my trim, woodwork, interior doors, and exterior door. It goes on smooth and finishes to a satiny shine. I have since used Behr interior wall paint as well. Great products!

Hi JeffnOboro, thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear your paint isn't drying as quickly as anticipated.

To get your project back on track, we'd recommend allowing the coating to dry for an additional 72 hours, increasing the ventilation in the area of application. If, however, the paint is still soft or lifting, we'd recommend removing the paint and reapplying it. Keep in mind that although the paint normally cures in about 7 days, darker colors may take longer to dry and that the weather also impacts the cure time,

Average / Mediocre Alkyd Enamel Paint
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Paint should not take 4 days to dry; (dry, not cure). I painted cabinet doors that I made using an air HVLP spray gun and after four days, you can touch the painted surface and it feels sticky and you can leave finger impressions on the sides where I picked up the cabinet door to inspect. If you choose this paint, it's best to have a longer term plan as the dry time is long. Hopefully the performance is worth it.

After a year and a half, almost all the trim was wearing and peeling off. Absolutely would not recommend this paint for exterior use.

                                                Hi Tuna fish2,

Thank you for reviewing BEHR Urethane Alkyd Satin Enamel. I'm very sorry to hear about the peeling issue experienced, as it isn't typical or what we want our customers to go through. I understand this must be disappointing and want to help.

To fix the peeling issue, I recommend removing the loose paint and sanding the edges to a smooth finish before cleaning and touching up/recoating.

Hi, thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear your paint was lumpy and is drying slower than anticipated; that's not the performance we expect from our products.

Our Urethane Alkyd Paint normally dries to the touch within a couple of hours. However, it can take up to 7 days to fully cure. To ensure proper paint consistency during your application, we recommend stirring your paint for 3-5 minutes before using it. To get your project back on track, we'd recommend sanding down any rough areas on your surface before cleaning the desk, allowing it to completely dry, and then touching up the affected areas.

Customer satisfaction is important to us. So, we've reached out to you directly to assist you further. Have a great day.
                                                        Awful paint
I purchased this paint for refinishing cabinets. I stripped sanded and primed cabinets before applying paint. I tried 3 different foam rollers. The first coat was super nappy and uneven. Lightly sanded after 1st coat and applied 2nd coat which was less nappy but left bad roller marks. Sanded 2nd coat and applied 3rd coat which still was nappy. In addition to that the paint feel tacky after 2 weeks. Frustrating to put in so much effort and end up with cabinets that are tacky & no where near smooth.

Hello, thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that the finish was nappy and tacky. This is not normal, and I understand your frustration. We recommend using a 1/4-3/8" nap roller, synthetic brush, or airless sprayer. If the finish still feels tacky, I recommend cleaning the surface with soapy water. I'll reach out to you in a private email to ensure that you have a successful project. Have a great day! -Giovanna
