A: Hi Todd, thanks for the question. Using a primer such as our Concrete & Masonry Primer does help to improve the adhesion of the Concrete Stain to the concrete, which will increase the performance of the stain. Have a great day! -Ronald
A: Hi Barb, thanks for the question. As long as the Sundek coating is in good condition, there shouldn't be any issues with applying our Solid-Color Concrete Stain over it. You would make sure the surface is clean and scuff sand any surfaces before applying the Stain. You can also test the adhesion of the Solid-Color Stain to the Sundek coating by applying it to a small inconspicuous area. Have a great day! -Ronald
A: I used this product to coat/paint the edges of my driveway and it came out really nice. It's been more than 17 months now and still looks like new. However, I don't drive on the part that I painted. I feel it is a very good product, but I don't think it would last 20 years if you drove on it on a regular basis. The product is more like a thick paint and I don't think it actually stains/colors the concrete. A product that soaks into the concrete might last longer.
A: May depend on what the existing coating is to assure adhesion. At the very least, the surface should be high pressure washed and a test area coated. After drying, if this area can be lightly pressure washed without loss of coating, then should be okay for normal weathering. If not, then etching to bare concrete may be necessary. For this product itself for my use, the concrete had a water seal coating, high pressure washed to bare concrete, cracks repaired, and coated with 2 coats. No hot tire pick-up and not too slippery when wet. I do a light recoat every 2 to 3 years for color-refresh, but no worse than an annual water sealing recoat. Overall, very good results.
A: Hi Tony, thanks for your question. Yes, our Solid Color Concrete Stain can be applied to a previously coated concrete surface. Before application, it's important to remove any peeling or loose coating, etch the bare concrete, and clean the surface with a concrete cleaner/degreaser. Hope this info helps! -Christina
A: H PuertoRico, thanks for your question. Yes, you can absolutely apply our Solid Color Concrete Stain in a humid area. However, keep in mind we recommend the humidity be lower than 50% during application. Once the product has dried and cured, it will withstand higher humidity. Have a great day! -Christina
