The BEHR Premium Semi-Transparent Waterproofing Stain & Sealer provides mildew protection while waterproofing the surface. This stain protects your exterior wood surfaces from harsh weather conditions. This stain is ideal for decks, fences and siding and resists rain after 4 hours.

LOVE IT! LOOKS WARM AND RICH!!
Originally purchased Olympic Semi-transparent Golden Oak, well.................. it was more of a School Bus Yellow, after getting a refund for it, the best fix was a solid stain. We went with Behr after reading all the reviews and couldn't be happier. Goes on evenly, covered in one coat, and looks so inviting; for a deck that is over 20+ years old. Kinda glad this cluster lead us to the Behr solid stain, we LOVE how it looks!!!

One bad Behr product to another….
I bought a house that had a deck, the deck was painted with Behr’s deckover. This product was peeling and flaking off. Not being happy with how the deckover held up. I purchased Behr Premium 5 gallons of Padre Brown (Solid) to redo the deck. I stripped the deck using 3 gallons of Behr’s wood stain and finish stripper following up with the All-In-One wood and deck cleaner. It was a long process to remove the deckover that did stick to the deck. Once the deck was bare wood again I let the deck dry. (2 weeks). I painted the deck in three thin coats waiting the recommend time between coats. The deck had no traffic for the next three days or any rain during those days. The deck looked great but… despite all the prep and following the products directions to the letter… less than 6 months it has started to peel. I can’t even wash the deck with the garden hose without causing more to peel up… definitely a “Premium” product… I wasn’t expecting it to last the noted 5 years…… but 6 months???

Hi Sharris - Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear about the peeling on your deck, especially so soon! To fix the finish, I recommend sanding off the loose stain, spot cleaning the bare areas, then touching up with more stain. If the peeling is happening to most of the surface, the best solution would be to remove the stain, clean the surface, then apply 2 coats at the recommended spread rate to ensure a long-lasting finish. Won't buy again
put a deck on, let it sit a year, waited for a breezy, sunny summer day to put stain on. Did 2 coats. One year later, peeling, wearing, need to do it again.

Bought 6 gallons in May 2016 to stain a very large deck. Looked great after it was stained last summer. Many hours spent staining last year and after 1 year this is what it looks like. Very disappointed. Money and A TON of time wasted. If your deck get a lot of foot traffic and sun everyday I suggest buying something else. Wouldn't ever buy this product again.

Love this products durability and ease of application.
I am very pleased with this product and will continue to use it in the future.
I have applied this product to a native cedar log home built in 1941. I couldn't ask for nicer one coat coverage do to the self priming feature. The neighbors have all commented on how nice this old cabin looks.
I used a sprayer to apply and back brushed to insure no runs. The clean up was a snap using soap and water. Stain was dry to the touch in no time. This is a very easy product to work with.
This product is everything it's advertised to be, self priming, UV protection, fills and hides imperfections.
I'm looking forward to the years of protection this product provides.
